DT Media Availability (week of 11/18)

Robert is just as annoying in this as he is with football. We need to find a better representative. Cruel to subject DT to that. Gundy deserves it but not DT
Robert made a statement that we started slow and gave up takedowns first in two of our matches but that fueled the fire for us to dominate later. David said he did not agree with that statement and that it was our intention to dominate from the start to the finish. It was hard for DT to keep the look of frustration or annoyance off his face. I don't think this will be a marriage made in heaven.

You would think with the rich wrestling tradition at Oklahoma St that they would've reporters who know more about wrestling.
Yes, between reporting and announcing, I would expect some changes in those areas. It has been an issue for some time and we need J Carl or a Hardell doing the pbp.

I don't hate the interaction though, because DT went on to say that he encourages the guys to make mistakes. I think that is one of the big differences that we see this year. In years past, we looked deflated as soon as we got taken down. These guys were able to get up and go get bonus points.
(Granted 2 of the guys who got taken down quick were 2 of our best wrestlers.)

The funny thing about RA is that he starts off every question by establishing his wrestling bonafides. Maybe this is a holdover from a past era when non-wrestling folks were asking John Smith silly questions and wrestling had less attention in general. I think DT will be open to the media from the get go, and there's obviously a lot more attention on OSU wrestling now than there has been in a long time.
