One of the best and most influential historical sports moments ever. It's personally my favorite.

I was in a bar called the Attic on the strip in Stillwater and was a student and watched the replay. We did not know who won so it was like watching it live as the game occurred earlier in the day. The whole bar was rocking!!!! So fun to watch sports history and to know America was back! Inflation was high, the economy was bad, and America just needed a shot of confidence and this provided it.

I was in sixth grade, staying at my grandparents’ house while my parents were on a business trip in Vegas. I remember them talking about people cheering in the airport on the way home when USA beat Finland.

It mattered what political party you were in.

Months later the MSM started trying to frame Reagan as a "dangerous cowboy" and cultural icons followed their lead for the next 8 years.

RR enjoyed historic POTUS electoral wins, in spite of it.

Today Americans are shouting "USA! USA! USA!" at sporting events and athletes are doing the Trump dance when they celebrate.

The only group not celebrating are the same ones that were sour pusses back then. You know, the ones who can't tell you what a woman is and send their children to transgender story hour.
