Do any of you really know any white nationalists or white supremicists?

Sam Bradford and I share skin tones. I've never read anything to suggest Sam is part sub-Saharan African but we share such a nose.

For the last 15 years I've maintained a buzz haircut so the world can see my big purple birth mark at the back of the neck and the black birth mark at the neck and skull. The black appears Grade A pure Negro. Forever I didn't want anyone to see. No matter now.

The mid-90s were 25 years ago. Not dismissing it at all, I just think in that time a lot has changed for the better. I also think a narrative is perpetuated by the media when, in reality, race relations are pretty damn good.

People still hang nooses...for entertainment. A lot has not changed for the better

I don't necessarily agree.

They tried to nail him on manufactured sex scandals. (Didn't work.)

They tried to nail him on Russian collusion. (Didn't work.)

They tried to nail him on tax returns. (Didn't work.)

Obama told America that America's greatest days were behind us and that we would never return. Trump went out and proved him wrong. The economy is soaring. Unemployment is at historic lows.

Bill Clinton's phrased this line: "It's the economy stupid."

It is and they know it. They literally have nothing to run on outside of made-up fake drama.

You forgot, "They tried to nail him on obstruction."

I’ve heard a lot of racism throughout my life and it’s originated from every race. I listened to a Colombian lady explain to a Mexican why everyone outside of Mexico hates Mexicans. And they were friends.

Xenophobia is as natural as breathing. It exists in every level of the animal kingdom. It exists between college football fans, religious sects, dialects, neighborhoods. The only reason that this white nationalism has whipped up such a dust storm is media ratings, clicks, shares and twitter emotions. And now as archie bunker would say the chickens have come home to the roosters. Now a growing group of white men, with no chores or super hot girlfriend or nice car who have had their brains rewired by hateful sarcasm on the internet have nothing to lose.

Howard stern culture of meanness and shrinking church community has created this. A fringe of the left, represented by 80% of the media and 10,000% over represented on social media has blown this out of proportion.
Can't disagree with most of your post. I have met white supremacist in the US and UK and Germany. Met some South Africans who were supremacist. So they are some around.

You'd call a tree stump a white supremacist if it looked at you wrong. South Africans who are defending their property and lives aren't white supremacists either. This isn't the 1960's.

First of all I didn't say I met them yesterday it was in 70's and 80's.
South African as you say protecting their land please explain how did they get that land.

They literally have nothing to run on outside of fear-mongering.

Didn't that just make someone POTUS recently? Or would it be more apt to say that he ran on "I'm not Hilary"? Probably a combination of the two.

Apparently it's a big problem in America today.

Still haven't met one.

How many Americans have you met? What percentage of all Americans need to be racist/white supremacist for it to be a "big problem"? Is it possible that you have met some, but they didn't share their views with you? Do you expect them to have a KKK/Swastika tattoo on their forehead to announce their leanings to everyone they meet?

Do you think this guy (Crasius) qualifies? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_El_Paso_shooting How many people like him would it take for this to be a "big problem" in America? I'm thinking 20 of him would be a big problem. Maybe fewer. What do you think?

OK, just wondering, are you running into a lot of these types in Plano? Or is this one of those "I need to suspend disbelief in order to feel like I'm on the right side of a political/cultural debate" kinds of things?

I don't need to suspend anything. I do know a local guy who was in prison about 4 years ago and was a member of the Aryan Brotherhood. He has the swastika tats to support his claims. Additionally....

A). Their existence follows tenets of common sense and basic logic.

B). The El Paso shooter is the most recent example of their existence, but there are plenty of other examples that I am made aware of throughout any given year. I can give many examples of burned black churches, antisemitic graffiti on synagogues, racial slurs painted on people's houses, violent hate crimes, etc.

To pretend that this is a made up fake news story is either an example of willful ignorance or of too much ingestion of conservative talking points.

p.s. FYI, the El Paso shooter was a student at Plano Senior High.

Nobody suggested they don’t exist.

Their relevance and imminent threat as a political or cultural movement however are pure fantasy.

Everyone hates racists. Everyone hates white supremacists. Obviously.

To be fair, I can show that many of those examples were hoaxes by lefties.

As usual, people are having two different conversations here.

The Left likes to pretend that some very significant % of white people are "racist/white supremicists" to quote Been above. I asked if you know some. Apparently you do know, or know of one. That is one, which is greater than zero. Which I'd guess puts you at about a 0.00001% ratio of verified white supremicists in your broader circle of known white people. Pretty encouraging % really.

You replied about the existential presence of murderers and arsonists in our society, about which any 8 year old with Google could certainly confirm exist. This of course brings nothing to the conversation because no one except sociopaths are in favor of murder and arson--unless you live in the sys world where 100% of your political opponents are in favor of murder and arson.

Of course these are two completely different questions--white supremacy vs. felonious violence-- but they're conflated together so that Leftists can "win" the moral argument in their minds. That's quite an intellectual leap for a sane, educated person to make. I'd personally be embarrassed to try it.

ANTIFA is a bigger problem.

Anyone with a half a brain would condemn the kooks you mention.

No one among the Dems condemns violent groups like ANTIFA.

This is 100 percent bullshit, and pathetic not to recognize the threats society faces.

Total bullshit. You are moving the goalposts.

AC asked:
Apparently it's a big problem in America today.

Still haven't met one.

That can be interpreted as "they don't exist".

I responded with this.

I answered the question that was asked appropriately.

You respond with this erroneous statement:
The Left likes to pretend that some very significant % of white people are "racist/white supremicists" to quote Been above.
Where is that quote exactly?

Then you conclude with this:
That's quite an intellectual leap for a sane, educated person to make. I'd personally be embarrassed to try it.
... and get a standing ovation from your brethren.

Not cool, Tons. I'm used to you working from a more evidence based, logical point of view.

The standing ovation, I'm guessing, is because I rebutted YOU MOVING THE GOALPOSTS. I simply asked if you knew some in Plano? You replied by describing the existence of prison gang members, murderers and arsonists.

Sorry, but you are the one not dealing in logic here, which frankly puzzles me. I am 100% certain your white neighbors, customers, and friends have given you no reason whatsoever to make you believe they're "racist/white supremicists" and yet you pretend they must exist everywhere because that's what your side's playbook is calling for this week.

The very fact that you can't address this simple question about your daily experience except to cite the existence of psychotic murderers in our society pretty much says it all.

WTF are you talking about? I clearly stated that it only takes a very small percentage of the population being white supremacists for it to be a big problem in this country.

Once again, the original question was this:

"Do any of you really know any white nationalists or white supremacists?
Apparently it's a big problem in America today.
Still haven't met one."

I'm clearly stating that they do exist and that it takes very few of them to be considered a "big problem in this country". You are clearly accusing me of claiming that they "must exist everywhere in this country." Once again, where did I say that?
