BTW...IMO.... This Green new deal is unrealistic, there are common sense things we need to do, I think most would agree, but this goes way too far
This is true and good.Americans who were born in America may be wising up — but America’s post-1965 demographic trends will make AOC’s platform exponentially more popular every year.
AOC is not going away, and neither are her ideas.
Conservatives can mock and ridicule AOC at their own peril — they couldn’t even build the wall 2016 voters wanted while controlling all three branches of government.
Not to mention, look how close Texas, Georgia and Florida already are to permanently flipping blue — entirely based on demographics, and ensuring the Dem perma-majority.

I agree. I think most do think adjustments need to be made. A 10-years timeline for anything nationwide is wholly unrealistic.BTW...IMO.... This Green new deal is unrealistic, there are common sense things we need to do, I think most would agree, but this goes way too far
Unions are going to hate building all those railroads and trainsAOC wants airlines out of business and green energy
sure fire way to alienate union vote
kudos to her
she’s doing nothing but fracturing the demtards
When they decide that 150 square feet of living space is all a person needs for sake of energy efficiency, you on board? Family of 4 gets 600 square feet?Unions are going to hate building all those railroads and trains
Trans Pacific high speed rail. Duh. It'll be cheap to build and won't take any time at all.
absolutely, but only if we get the railroad thing first. When they decide that 150 square feet of living space is all a person needs for sake of energy efficiency, you on board? Family of 4 gets 600 square feet?
I was curious how they were going to address air travel. L O effing L!
And we can have giant cargo ships go back to using sails!!!!!!!!

There is enough helium ( specifically Helium -3) trapped in the atmospheres of Jupiter, Saturn , Uranus and Neptune to last out the Human species
Neither party should be taking victory laps. Ever.Seems very likely to happen in Texas. I can't speak to the other 2 states. Just a matter of when, IMO.
And foolishly cried socialism too many times.GOP slept on demographics for decades

NET ZERO. There will be no cargo ships or trans ocean flights if they burn fossil fuel. You're obviously not embracing the Green New Deal.If we get down to only cargo ships and trans oceanic flights burning fossil fuels, we are going to be alright.
They can just put those charging stations at the trans ocean train stations.Sails? You are crazy.
They will be electric. Multiple charging stations will be built in the middle of the ocean. They will be powered by the wind and the waves.
Piece of cake.

At least in the oceans they won't have to use eminent domain to build those. I doubt eminent domain will be received any better for trains that it has been for a border wall. They can just put those charging stations at the trans ocean train stations.
We can net those out with carbon captureNET ZERO. There will be no cargo ships or trans ocean flights if they burn fossil fuel. You're obviously not embracing the Green New Deal.

AOC might be fracturing the old school Demtards — but a new generation is quickly rising (Demographics) that has zero respect for Pelosi, zero respect for the old school union Dems, and zero respect for the Dems’ recent neoliberalism.
Watch how they effortlessly shouted down and brushed aside Nancy Pelosi below.
The new rising Dems have a fire inside them that shouldn’t be underestimated or dismissed. They’re growing exponentially every year.
GOP slept on demographics for decades
Carbon capture in the skies and open ocean! I can't wait!We can net those out with carbon capture
This is phuggin' INSANE talk!!!!!!!
Sincerely, I do appreciate her passion. I think it's admirable a young person (29) getting active and wanting to change something she sees as wrong or corrupt.I've said it before. She dumb.
Direct air capture.Carbon capture in the skies and open ocean! I can't wait!
No, plants that separate CO2 from the air which can be located anywhere.Like emission devices on jet engines?

Hmmmmm. So we can put a plant in Nebraska that captures the CO2 emissions of a flight from New York to Paris. Interesting. Why don't we just put these plants around everywhere right now and then not worry about emissions? We could be scrubbing the CO2 down to whatever level the alarmists say will create a static climate. No, plants that separate CO2 from the air which can be located anywhere.

Maybe that's why the New Green Deal simply calls for zero burning of fossil fuels. If it doesn't work on renewables, it doesn't work. Hopefully battery powered planes are already approaching the production phase. It is expensive.
You said it was net zero not gross zero.Maybe that's why the New Green Deal simply calls for zero burning of fossil fuels. If it doesn't work on renewables, it doesn't work. Hopefully battery powered planes are already approaching the production phase.
I'm just reiterating what the brain power behind the Green New Deal has proposed. 100% clean and renewable energy, not just 100% renewable. That doesn't leave any spot for airplanes unless we've got some wind, solar, or battery powered models on the horizon. You said it was net zero not gross zero.
direct air carbon capture is expensive, but I bet it is cheaper than electric cargo ships and it is definitely more possible than batter powered airplanes.
