Democratic Debate: Night Two

I'd probably sound like Joe Biden right now if I was talking. #Cutmeoffbartender #Stumbling #Slurring

Biden is still trying to get off the floor where Harris knocked him.
Harris came at him with emotion and Joe didn't fight back with enough umpf with his facts on the situation. If the local government in California during the time Harris was going to school was causing challenges to bussing AFTER a federal ruling...well that's a local level issue. He's right with his facts but that'll get lost.

Just curious. I spent most of my childhood in Jefferson. Would've been a Cyclone had we not moved. Thanks.
I shook hands (again) with B Stoops at a Clone tailgate in Ames early last season and almost died in the heat (like 98); had to seek shade at halftime. The normal mild summers here have de-conditioned me over the years...

Hey Eric...a large majority of those black children being shot down in the streets are being killed by handguns. The guns you think should allow to be kept by your own words. Gosh if you're going to get guns off the street at least choose the right ones.

Anyone else feel similar? This debate seems to have more 'fireworks' both in attacking Trump and attacking each other, but is very light on real policy. Last night's was much more 'wonky'. Sadly, I think I preferred last night.

Yesssss go off Kamala. You've seen more autopsy photos of victims of gun violence than anyone on stage (while also prosecuting large amounts of non-violent drug offenders, mostly weed in your tenure).

I prefer tonight because in reality only Warren and Booker are going to be a factor in the Dem race. This one tonight has Biden, Sanders, Harris, and Mayor Pete with some more interesting characters like my boy Yang.

There is your Biden + Tulsi connection, get the troops out of Afghanistan.

Tried to watch it, 10 mins was all I could stomach. The only time I saw a sorrier lot was last night.

I'm convinced...Sanders and Biden are losers tonight to this point.

I'm not sure what I think of Biden's performance. Some good moments, some not so good moments. Will be interesting to see how it plays post-debate. Sanders didn't have a good night. He seemed over shadowed by Harris and Biden. The magic of 2016 just isn't there at this point.

And of course, Kamala Harris clearly is the winner tonight.

I would actually agree Harris was the strongest tonight but she still has some major major warts that haven't been addressed. This primary season is going to get juicy

He's full o shit.
3 to 1.
That's the handguns to rifle ratio in gun crimes.
Swallowell indeed.

Yang and Hickenberg or whatever the Colorado governor's name is both had good closing quotes. Yang's "Not right, not left, but forward" is a rock solid slogan for a campaign.

Obviously you didn’t hear the “break up with Russia and make up with nato” zinger from swellwell

My thoughts:

Winner:
Kamala Harris - although I think her closing statement could have been much much stronger

Runner(s) Up:
Mayor Pete - had some hiccups though with the BLM question. I still believe that he's one of the most polished and the being a Gay Vet will be interesting moving forward in this primary season
Yang - because he's so different

Losers (margin still TBD):
Sanders - All sizzle, no actual information on implementation for his policies
Biden - they came at him at times tonight and he wasn't as strong in his emotion, not going to play well. He needs to come with the passion to back up his actions in the Senate and as VP.

Good Points but not enough coverage: Hickenlooper

In attendance to just say crazy things and make me jealous of his tie: Swalwell

Two thoughts as someone who works for campaigns. First, I hope they are getting the message that it is time to pivot off of a socialist message. Second, Butigieg's message tonight was very tight. He has some good people in his campaign helping him and I am willing to get a $100 bill that he will be top 5 in polling leading in to the primaries.

i did. But it felt forced to me. But if Yang gets traction, that right, left, forward slogan will play every bit as much as MAGA/KAGA.
