By giving the Congressional Democrats a significant leverage tool in dealing with the issue(s) important to them in December to get what he wanted right now (hurricane relief).
So it ultimately kinda is about the issues
they were pawns

Lol.
Okay.
if you can't get ryan to move the agenda what are you going to do?
after while pretty please with sugar on top gets stale
Switching sides and giving leverage to the Dems...who have even less love for your agenda...doesn't seem like a viable plan to me.
that's why you didn't run the table to become president
Explain it to me like I'm five years old then.
Ryan and McConnell suddenly gonna change their minds and get on board the Trump train?
Gonna be a wave of Republican Congressional incumbents get beat in the primaries by Trump guys that go on to win the general election too?
Democrats are gonna have a change of heart because Trump gave them something in a deal?
How exactly do you see this masterstroke of a power consolidation playing out for Trump accomplishing his agenda?
the same way you don't
And we are right back where we started.
Lol.
Yeah, okay.
you blazed a new trail into the future with
no analysis into the paradigms of the meeting itself
the guy that beat all the bush money,
the clinton machine, the MSM, conscripted the republican party
and pelosi invited by trump into a meeting at the white house walks in and asks potus if he likes the size of the bananas?
you believe that?
that makes sense to you?
then ivanka stops by to talk childcare?
then trump flies to NeffinD to talk tax reform and stumps for dem sen heitkamp
what about all this can you not see?
repubs aren't getting things done
trump takes the heat while they watch him roast so he nuked their ass and pelosi et al get a chip in the game
so yes mcconnell and ryan have decisions to make cause there are plenty of folks that want credit for progress and ryan and mcconnell are ripe for the fall
i laugh at the premise trump got worked in his own office
as far as deals go he gave up a pawn
bfd
The Don flex
As far as deals go, he got a pawn too.
Hurricane relief that Dems could never vote against.
I never said or claimed or implied he got worked. Hell, I even said I like the willingness to cooperate and negotiate he exhibited.
It's you cheerleading this exchange of pawns as a masterwork of negotiation with huge implications for his agenda down the road while still not coherently expressing why or how.
You like to see The Don flex, I get it.
Carry on.
It gave Trump a 3 month reprieve to get through all the disaster stuff and he gets the added bonus of sticking it to the Republican establishment that has been against him from the beginning and screwing up what he wants to accomplish.
Now he has the Democrats on record cooperating with him.
He's going to piss both sides off eventually. If he abandons the nationalist, populist financial agenda he ran on then he can kiss his base goodbye and he will be just another Jimmy Carter in the history books of failed Presidents.
Or he'll get what he really wants and the MSM and establishment politicians of both parties will be scratching their heads once again. "HOW THE HELL DID HE DO THAT".
i'm focused on the people involved
again your focused on policy
you're an evidence based lawyer i get it
Like I said, you like to see The Don flex.
Clearly.
How this helps advance his agenda or policy pursuits...not your focus.
Evidence....not your focus.
The Don flexes and you sigh with adoration.
Cool.
in one week
he kicked daca to congress
he has the meeting
he went to ND with a dem sen to talk tax reform
in essence he told repubs to get off their ass
why is this hard for you to follow?
It's not.
It's really pretty simple.
You just seem absolutely convinced it's gonna work and the repubs are gonna get in line...that or don't really care whether or not it works because he be flexing.
I remain dubious.
We will see.
How this helps advance his agenda or policy pursuits...not your focus.
100% wrong
been you have a way making new conversation and skipping the gist
again it's not about issues of which the wall is one
that meeting was a consolidation of power
i'm not convinced they're gonna get in line
i am convinced we have a president who wont let people's feelers or fear of them get in the way of moving this country forward
you call it flexing so be it
after eight years of mealy mouthed obama i find it refreshing and that's what i voted for
"DIFFERENCE".....not DEFERENCE
Maybe he was referring to submission and respect between Obama and Trump voters and "their" respective presidents. Ha. Marinate on that Mr. Dictionary dot Com. Yes, I'm available on retainer, and I'm rather cheap."DIFFERENCE".....not DEFERENCE.

referring to submission
Well, not to deflate your bubble, but deference works as well.Nope. First post clearly compared the two "fan bases" to each other with regards to how they treat and view their guy.
Don't try to wordsmith me, son. I get paid big bucks for that. Go apply a bandage on someone or something and stay in your lane.
Well, not to deflate your bubble, but deference works as well.
Obama supporters cheered whatever he did and Trump supporters will bail on him if he fellates the Democrats, according the the OP. Hence, Obama supporters showed deference to Obama regardless of his actions, and Trump supporters won't show deference to Trump unless he does their bidding, and thus will bail.
I'm trying to stay in my lane, but for some reason I drifted into yours and I am playing chicken. My impulse control has been blunted by Boulevard Bourbon Barrel Quad.
The difference between Trump and Obama supporters...
Trump supporters are unashamed to be proud Americans; Obama supporters are ashamed to be Americans.
You have appeared to have been in an incredibly pissy mood around here lately.
Me? No. My sarcasm obviously didn't translate - at all.
The difference is that each side has vastly different views on the role of a federal social safety net. The problem is that the differences are probably reconcilable.
I'm glad...and sarcasm not translating probably is all it is.
Put that shit in blue so we know, yo!
