Yeah, I miss him.

Especially now. During this intense political season.

I'd love to see how he would easily deal with posters like @GhostOfMatchesMalone and @fatman76. Better than any of us can, no doubt!

I miss his political commentary, most of which was spot on.

I miss his friendly banter, especially with posters like @Ponca Dan. You know he really liked you Dan and your opinionated self, we all do.

I also miss the posters who left when David moved on, posters like @Syskatine. The board doesn't seem like the same place since David died.

And I wonder, if David could talk to us now, if he could make a post now, what would be say? What would he tell us?

Every board seems to have at least one poster like @my_2cents. A little troll who isn't smart enough to intelligently debate issues, so he immediately resorts to lying about the issue, about what the other person is saying, about what HE is saying. He wants the other person chasing his lies so they will be too busy replying to lies rather than focusing on an intelligent debate. Which the troll can't handle.

Notice he speaks to this when he asks how would this David guy handle the posters he is struggling with now. It's a sad moment of clarity when he realizes that David was better equipped mentally to handle debate, and wouldn't have to resort to lying.

Every board has a poster like half nickel. I will say, 99% of the time they are liberals. The left just attracts a certain class of person.
