Nah he changed my opinion of him. Sucks to lose him, but losing assistants is what is going to happen when you hire good people.

A happy wife is a happy life. If that is part of it, you can't blame him one bit. After one year is a prick move in my opinion.
Word. If I could take a job that’d (probably) pay me more and get my wife and daughter closer to her family, I’d do the same thing. Now if he goes to PSU and starts talking mess, I will have to wish him a lifetime of flat sodas and long red lights.I’ll say this.
If this move back to PSU is because his wife struggling to make Stillwater her home, I get it.
Years ago the wife and I moved for a career opportunity. Initially we were excited, it was only a few hours from our hometown. As time went on it became apparent that she really struggled being away from her family and friends, and didn’t adapt well to a new city or making new friends.
It’s not easy.
After about 18 months we moved back.
It wasn’t a “she won” or a typical “happy wife happy life” situation. it was just the right thing to do for the betterment of our family. She wasn’t happy and it wasn’t easy for me to know she was battling through that.
So I get it.
I sure couldn’t imagine moving to Pennsylvania.
Best of luck Gillman.
Thanks for all the help while you were here. I believe he made a big impact in a short period of time.
This is very accurate except for the logistics...depending on your def. of "few hours."I’ll say this.

That's harsh. Maybe tone it down a little.I will have to wish him a lifetime of long red lights.
I almost warned him...That's harsh. Maybe tone it down a little.
Agreed. Gilman was great this past season and I wish him the best. Hopefully there are no hard feelingsNah he changed my opinion of him. Sucks to lose him, but losing assistants is what is going to happen when you hire good people.
Ya know what. I’ll take it a step further, and I don’t care if it offends the snowflakes on here. I hope his kid joins the middle school band and practices the trumpet BADLY for 30 minutes every. Single. Day.That's harsh. Maybe tone it down a little.
Hold on Slick, are you having flashbacks?Ya know what. I’ll take it a step further, and I don’t care if it offends the snowflakes on here. I hope his kid joins the middle school band and practices the trumpet BADLY for 30 minutes every. Single. Day.
Well, to leave a job, so soon. Our lower weights struggled the most all year (except spratley). We can extrapolate that there may have been either ideological or personality conflicts between him and someone on staff. We all thought Gilman was a prick up until last year…….we probably were right on our first instinct.
💯A happy wife is a happy life. If that is part of it, you can't blame him one bit.
Thanks. Interesting. He rushed the decision to become a coach and he was having issues with the staff. He said he couldn’t work with the staff so he knew it wasn’t going to work.
I had the same question, let me know what you hear. I’m just rolling into Stillwater to start pregaming for the boys from Oklahoma concert, so needless to say, I will not be listening to any podcasts today. No love lost or no hard feelings? About to start listening so I guess I’ll have my answer soon
Sounds like no hard feelings from his tone. He is… definitely a different kinda cat, but wish him all the best until he’s going against an OSU guy.I had the same question, let me know what you hear. This is huge.
It really is.This is huge.
CWC already has Zahid, might get awkward bringing in another 86kg. I would imagine Doug is going to try and fill Ropers spot with Keck.Does Keckeisen follow him? Does he become the next UNI assistant?
