Confirmed: In debt forever

This is my biggest criticism of Trump. He hasn't done much (if anything) to rein in Federal spending. And before some dumb lib talks about the impact of Tax cuts, I'd note that Federal tax income has only continued to increase. But actual spending increases haven't flattened under Trump.

Unfortunately, neither party (outside of a Rand Paul) will address this, because they refuse to make the hard decisions needed to address the root causes and both sides want to protect the funding given to their own party's interests and causes.

You forgot Mike Lee. And Justin Amash, but of course he’s a miserable traitor so he shouldn’t count. Other than that you’re 100% spot on.

They could start by eliminating baseline budgeting. That alone guarantees an 8% increase in each agencies budget every year before more money is added by the Congress.

They could give incentives to each agency which doesn't spend its allocated funds. Anything left over would go on "account" in the event an unforeseen expenditure arises which they could draw upon.

When I worked with the federal government, each end of the fiscal year, our department went crazy spending money so as not to lose it the next year. One year we bought 15-20 new double door gray metal lockers. They immediately hired a painter to paint each one a beige color since they would lose the money if they didn't spend it.

This is the most frustrating thing about government. If you don’t need it don’t spend it. When my siblings and I went to OSU my mom would give us spending money each week. We were supposed to give back the extra. Not a hard concept to grasp.

The use it or lose it theory is alive and well in government.

Politicians invented the "kick it down the road approach." By in large they are gutless parasitic whores most of whom show up as paupers and end up millionaires all on salaries of less than 200K a year. It is systemic, pervasive and absolutely going to punish generations to come if these morons don't do what they are ostensibly paid to do. You'll know the jig is up when they start introducing bills to grab 401K's instead of he fringe elements just throwing the idea out there.

Trump is laying a giant egg here!
