Censorship in America

Tell us unbiased, non-CRT teaching professor.
So does this mean you have no clue what the book is about?

If one doesn't even know what a book is about, it makes no sense for one to support banning that book. Just because it shows up on some political partisan list of books to oppose or because the title may challenge someone, doesn't mean someone should automatically oppose it.

Hardly anything at all. It gets a passing reference when dealing with recent history as it relates to the sexuality and gender debate occurring in our nation and around the world, but that is really it. And that is usually at the very end of a semester when many recent history topics are being covered.

Students though are welcomed in my classes and my school based upon the gender they identify with. We don't discriminate or single them out. We make no issue about it at all. My job as a teacher does not call on me getting involved in all of that. Nor would I want to.
That's bad science.

Do you allow your students to live out their gender dysphoria fantasy at school without their parents' knowledge?

Evasive liberal who can't be trusted.

Got it.

You have no business teaching children professor.

No. Their parents know.

That is why I stated I want no part in getting involved in all of that. My job is to teach, not police a student's gender identity.

Tell us what the book is about professor.
It is about Frederick Joseph's personal experiences with racism. He also discusses the personal experiences of racism that others have experienced based upon discussions he had with them.

While reading the book, I had to pause and think about some of the comments I have made before to a black person, comments I thought nothing of at the time but now realize could have easily been seen as offensive to that person.

The book, among other things, reminded me of the power of words and how we often times don't stop to think about what is behind our words.

Sounds like you need to be a better white person.

We all could stand to be better people. I'm never met a perfect person.

I'm sorry you apparently don't want to read and learn from the personal experiences of others, especially if by doing so it challenges you.

2012Bearcat just advocated for it on this thread. His own words:

"And teach these kids we cannot view and judge history through the norms of today. Culture and society have changed dramatically for the better over the last 100 to 150 years and that has to be taken into consideration. If we held every country to the same standard some try to hold this country to, we are still head and shoulders above most every country in the world when you look at their history. Try teaching that if you want to teach something not how bad this country has been."

Please do not distort what I posted. I in no way said anything about not teaching American history. I said teach complete American history the good and the bad.

That is not what you originally stated.

You apparently were of the false belief that we history teachers just sit around and teach how bad the US has been. You also were advocating for not viewing the mistakes of history through the accepted norms of today.

Study about slavery but I guess never allow the accepted norm today that slavery is wrong to influence the study.

If that was your interpretation you had it wrong.

So you're judgmental too, huh?

You don't know the first thing about me.

Close minded fascists such as yourself have no business teaching children.

I'm now a liberal fascist. What a combination.

Close minded as well, from someone who questions a book and those who read it without ever having read the book himself.

I don't like the title.

It's demeaning to white people.

Do you condemn the mayor of NYC for his bigotry this week?

It is only demeaning to those white people who judge a book by its cover. Also, those white people who allow themselves to be caught up in partisan fury without digging just a little bit deeper.

I don't know what the mayor NYC has to do with any of this, but yes, he should not have used the term he used. He was right to apologize for it.

As I stated about the book, the power of words. We all have room for improvement.

@AC2020 only called you a fascist because I called his next move of labeling you a communist.

He has no clue what a fascist or a communist is though. He is also one of the most close-minded posters on this board. He literally won't read any links you provide that are not from conservative websites.

He is projecting big time with you. It is what he does.

All teachers unions are not the same. They do not all act the same. Grouping all teacher unions as the same is what partisans do so they can attack all teacher unions. It is rather lazy but it plays into the divide that both parties thrive on.

I believe any teacher union should support transparency. The local teacher union I am a part of has transparency. My union does not actively attempt to keep parents from knowing what is being taught. If it did so, there would be major pushback from myself and most other teachers I know.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, except all teachers unions are actually the same. Politics before students...

You talk about your local chapter...

Which major teachers union are you affiliated with? Maybe you should yell really loudly and publicly that "My union does not actively attempt to keep parents from knowing what is being taught. If it did so, there would be major pushback from myself and most other teachers I know."

This actually looks like a DodgeAllen response.

Welp...

Chicago schools training says sex 'not rooted in biology,' tells teachers to hide gender pronouns from parents

Ok Taliban, what are you doing to stop Islamic Terrorism? Anymore Bin Laden types taking refuge in your Country without your Governments (snicker) knowledge?
Just because I am a muslim that means that if you are a christian you are with Ku Klux klan or a nazi. Pakistan is a big country with thousand miles border with Afghanistan. It is just like cartel leaders hiding in the USA and your govt unable to catch them.

Pakistan has a sizeable Catholic population and they aren’t treated well.
What do you mean treated well. One of the largest bank in Pakistan had a catholic woman as its CEO. There are many christians doing well and their total population is about 3%

The borders are wide open for a reason. They aren't interested in rounding up cartel leaders. They (and China) are the cash-cow for many politicians. The Biden administration is in lock-step with the cartels. Heck.... Dept. of Health and Human Services is even supplying crack pipes to the brothers.

Sounds like you may have some white guilt. You ought to get together with @davidallen and hug it out.

I know exactly what I'm talking about.

Fascism and Communism are both fruit from the same Socialist tree

Words have meaning. Once out, it's hard to put them back in a box.

Since you are trying to be a better white person, do you condemn the racist rant by the mayor of NYC this week?

Why are you here right now? Aren't you supposed to be teaching children?

Or do you have all the time in the world because you actually live in your parents' basement?

What books about the history of racism in the US are being outlawed, or attempting to be outlawed?
