Looking into elections fraud and irregularities would be an official act IMO but I'm sure the left have a completely different view but only if it is a Democrat questioning the election a Republican is shown to have won.

Exactly. Ironically, it seems that Democrats are the ones who are protected from breaking the law. To not allow the government to look into election fraud is definitely an attack on our democracy.
