BREAKING: Russia claims Ukraine has fired US missiles into Russia

Some people really don't want Trump to take power. Hey 'Trump's horrific flaws' guys, you starting to wake up?
Russia isn't going to do one dam thing because of this other then keep driving barely trained "soldiers" forward to be slaughtered. If I'm Ukraine I start taking out O&G facilities, power stations and water treatment centers. Make this coming winter very miserable for the dam russian civilians. I would also research the businesses owned by any of the oligarchs left that favor Putin and start knock those businesses out.

Is it your belief that Ukraine acts or can act on its own accord, without consulting the US?

Let's run as fast as we can to WW3!
The people making these decisions have determined that tempting nuclear war is preferable to letting Trump get into power and possibly holding them accountable for their crimes.

Think about that. What crimes would one have to commit to think "It's worth destroying the planet to avoid me having to stand trial for what I've done'?

For the most part yes, they can make their own decision, especially now with administration changes on the horizon. After Trump is sworn in, no idea, but doubtful.

I simply don't believe that the russians are going to commit to nuclear war, they will lose every ally they currently have by using just one tactical nuke. Every regime supporting them will stop immediately and I don't think the russian people will even approve of such action. Not to mention the people/countries skirting sanctions currently to help them will immediately stop. The russian economy will utterly collapse as well.

Iran, North Korea, and China will no longer support them? You really believe that?

Another western freakout over more silly Russian nuclear threats is pretty tired by this point isn't it?
Not this time.

We're (incl NATO) encouraging Ukraine to send US-made missiles into Russia.

This is actually fairly serious.

I think what we hope for now is that neither Putin nor Zelensky really want escalation, and both know Trump is going to try to broker peace as soon as he's sworn in. But the timing of asking Ukraine to send missiles into Russia is a bit too on the nose.

Interesting take.

Up till now, we were told by the left (and some on the right) that we MUST support Ukraine at ALL costs. That Putin was a power-mad dictator who, left unchecked, would destroy Ukraine, then march across Europe.

Yet when Biden steps in and tells Zelensky to attack Russia, Ukraine does, then Putin says that means Russia will retaliate.....suddenly Putin is a blowhard that won't do anything?

Interesting take.

Putin knows Trump won't put up with this, and he knows the left is trying to keep Trump out of office and he knows WHY they are.

Hopefully he doesn't respond, but I could see a scenario where he pounds Ukraine now, thinking as soon as Trump takes over he will stop. Either way, the left has pushed us to war in exchange for them having a chance at skipping jail time under Trump. Thats all this is.

Another interesting take is that this is really something new.

Ukraine drove American Bradley's and Abrams into Kursk a few months ago. Not a peep from the overwrought about "escalation".

Ukraine has hit that same base, and MANY others much further into the "Russian heartland" dozens if not hundreds of times over the past few years, albeit with their own drones not US-made weapons. The ATACMS capability or range isn't this big significant upgrade like the low information Western news consumer wants to fear.

Every time Russia does something to escalate and the West responds, Russia pretends the West did the escalating and spits out gruff warnings in response.

It's again a bluff, as it has been the other 50 times they've done it.

AC, I do believe that. North Korea will only do what China allows them to do. Iran is only as good as the amount of oil they can sell and China's near total existence is based on stealing intellectual property (or companies volunteering to cough up intellectual property to do business there) and making cheap shit that consumers buy around the world. All of these factors can be almost completely be cut off and probably would be. None of those three countries are going to hitch their stars to russia and go down with them. Russia is running out of equipment and recently went to the various movie storage areas around eastern russia and confiscated old T-55's that were modified to look like German PzKfw III and Panthers for movies.

The other thing that happens if russia uses nukes is they (and china if still supporting them) would no longer be on the UN security council if the UN even continues to exist. Granted the UN is a joke, but having those veto powers over almost all decisions is a huge benefit to both countries and once lost won't ever happen again.

I also do not have any idea how Trump can or will end this war. It is one of the things he has continually said he could do, but I don't know how without appeasing one country and screwing the other. We shall see but my guess is that the war will still be going on this time next year unless Putin is knocked off and russia makes some huge concessions.
