I have to start by suggesting the BOR completely screwed this up and most importantly Jimmy Harrell overstepped their responsibility! Dr Schrum and Chad Weinberg should always have been in charge of dealing with MG! Imagine the BOR demanding the Dean of business renegotiate the terms of their most famous professor!! That being said, Dr Schrum and Chad got it right, I believe! They were knowledgeable of Mikes changes and plans to make impactful changes! I’m told he has a DC coordinator essentially hired and has a pool of 3 OC’s ! I was also told he engaged one of the best college football coaches of all time for advice and direction
Getting help on the hirings and developing strategy on portal additions! NO ONE loves OSU any more than MG!! Firing him would have been disastrous , much like OU firing Gary Gibbs and Nebraska firing Frank Solich! MG challenge just got more challenging because of the BOR and the national publicity ! I still believe he has a plan and will put us back on track!
