anyone notice this? I'm a pretty fashionable guy, but I draw the line on this garbage. I'm used to seeing Euros at the pools in Vegas wearing speedos (I still think it's bizarre) but are we migrating in that direction? Each year, the swimsuits get shorter and shorter. Looking at Polo and Hugo Boss you can easily see this in effect

That was the style in the 70s and 80s, then the 'Fab 5' shorts style of Michigan took off and things went long for a couple decades. Just cyclical, things change.

Nothing says closet homo like worrying about this kind of thing.

Crazy thought: What if women are encouraging men to do this?

(Note: just playing devil's advocate. I wear skin-tight jammers to swim laps and regular trunks for pool/beach.)

This dude is cooler and pulled more trim than everyone in this thread combined...

You should wear sweats while swimming laps.

I get the trend. I also feel that we have taken skinny jeans as far as they can go. When do the baggy ones come back? Not sure. That being said, I very much dislike the small swimsuit thing for men.

Thank you for noticing. Please add something of value to this thread.

The thread is so incredibly valuable to begin with that I'm not sure there is really any value left to add.

Valiant attempt at misdirection though! Kudos!

I guess there are two points here-if you don't like the thread, why are you here/commenting and two if you'd like to be here, why not add something of value?

I don't understand the need to come to a thread and nitpick what others say because you don't like the topic. A famous comic once said, I don't come to your work and throw rocks at you while you're mowing.

I thought the topic would elicit some interesting responses. Never said I didn't like the thread. I just thought your second post contradicted your original point.

My big old man ass and big legs will never get into the skinny jeans trend lol. So I guess I will always be out of style with big trunks and jeans.

We did the "French roll" thing with jeans back in the late 80s...it looked goofy then and doesn't look any better now without the roll.

I have big feet as well, so tapered leg jeans make the issue even more pronounced. Hell, I will overalls before I try to slide into some olive grabbing garments.

DING DONG! Wake me up when bell bottoms come back...

I'm boot cut or similar all the way. I'm 6' 6" w/ size 14 kicks. Skinny jeans were never an option.

I have actually done this. I wore sweats and a sweat shirt while I went through my practice. This was done two weeks before State. I hated the practices and always thought it was extra dumb two weeks before State to have your swimmers wearing a bunch of extra weight. There was always a chance a kid could hurt themselves and then you don't have any time to recover. I hated my head swim coach my senior year. She did several things to sabotage my state title run.

I'm fairly certain JNCOs are still quite fashionable in Lawton.

From the female perspective, the new trunks are not a problem.

There's your proof, gents.

And, let's leave Lawton out of this. It's not like many of us had a choice (Army brat).

I really like wearing the above the knee board shorts. I play a lot of beach volleyball and shorter shorts with scalloped sides are awesome to move in.

They make jeans with 2-5% spandex for guys if you like some give in jeans that fit well, instead of being baggy.

I've been wanting a some of the low cut board shorts (not jammers) for about 8 years now. I never did pull the trigger but I thought they would just be different and kid of funny. I'm married now and I'd like to get some just to embarrass my wife. It would also be a good idea to do it while I'm still in reasonable shape and before my little girl is old enough to make fun of me.
