When looking at Intermat's rankings, on paper it looks like we shouldn't have any problem qualifying 9/10 weights. Only weight in question would be at 125. Witcraft is ranked #32 on intermat with 6 Big12 guys ranked above him making him #7 in the Big12 rankings. Flo has him at #9 in their Big12 rankings, but I don't pay much attention to theirs. There are 7 spots available, obviously depends on seedings, but if he wrestles well I think he should qualify. I believe It's been several years since we sent all 10 starters to NCAA's.

Really excited for this tournament. I’m flying into T-town Thursday with my son from Virginia. Hope we are prepared and do well. It’s actually my first time coming to the Big 12 Wrestling tournament, hard to believe.

Realistically, what’s our best chance to get past Missouri and Iowa St to have a chance at team title? Think flo projections had missou at 119 and the cowboys at 107.5. Clones right behind that.
Dual Season ended up in a tie which tells you it’s possible. Everyone has to wrestle to their potential or better.
It all starts with Plott. Is he healthy? If he’s not right, you are looking at 2nd at best.
•Need all the help you can get from Witcraft.
•Fix B12 Champ
•Do we see the CY that knocks off top guys or is inconsistent & makes untimely errors?
•Does VV break out? If Yes + Plott, you have an even better shot.
•Does Gfeller maintain the level he’s had all season? Can’t slip up against Jacques. Need to see him vs Franek in the Finals.
•Need Sheets to beat everyone he can. He has 2 seemingly insurmountable hurdles.
•It’s time for Wittlake to put it all together.
•Surber same as Young. Can he repeat against Elam? He’s itching to rematch Sloan. Have to keep a sharp eye in this Class. He can beat everyone, 3-4 can beat him. This is one guy I wouldn’t put anything past.
•Doucet is much like Witcraft. Needs to target 3rd or 4th
There IS a path. As always, there is little to no margin for error.

125 - We lost a chance for extra points early with Cal Baptist getting hurt, totally all in for the pin,
now we have 3 dog fights in a row, WV tough, AF freshman, UVU win and in!
133 - Anything less than 25 points is a win for MO/ISU
141 - Time to shine, 3rd place is a must for the championship, can beat ISU, Mo, and OU! LET's GO!
(no pressure Young, love your wrestling, reminds me of Nathan Morgan)
149 - Should finish 3rd or 4th regardless of the results of the first match
157 - G, no less than 2nd with bonus points
165 - 3 wins and 2 loses, 5th place and OU rematch victory
174 - Plott and the fate of OSU wrestling are closely tied together, both need to be first
184 - 3rd best wrestler at the weight class
197 - Luke is a wildcard, but a damn good wildcard! 4th should be just enough to push us over the top
285 - 2 victories is all we need

Two months ago this team looked like a fourth or fifth place Big 12 team. I like the way they have been wrestling of late. hope Plott is full speed as he will be one of the difference makers.
Sounds like he broke his leg/foot a few weeks ago and he didn't clear medical this week.
They have a couple backups listed on roster at 125. The problem with 125 lbers is can they get down to weight on short notice? The other issue is would they then redraw the bracket. Wit was in a very good spot for coming thru the backside.
Looking back thru the brackets id say we are at a huge disadvantage. If I counted correctly we have 6 first round byes to 2 for Mizzu. Thus significant reduction in bonus point opportunity.
They randomly draw the unseeded wrestlers into the bracket, others get the byes.
