I am amazed how clueless and easily manipulated liberals are. Obviously some are not old or informed enough to know the tax laws concerning real estate were much different in the 80's. Believe it or not back in 80s before the tax laws were changed it was advantageous to have rental properties that ran in the red (meaning expenses were more than the rents). I was investing in rental properties back then and thankfully didn't believe in investing in properties that didn't make a profit much less cover expenses. I saw numerous people including the guy that got me into real estate investments go bankrupt.

10 year economy from the 2008 recovery is remarkable. Trump has only 2 of those years. Also giving credit or blaming presidents for the economy is idiotic in almost all cases as is their ego driven desires to connect the two. I think they are crazy to attach their legacies to the economy.
Presidents have an absolute effect on the economy, saying otherwise is intellectually dishonest. The President is the leader of the country and as such sets the tone for the entire country. One of Ronald Reagans greatest accomplishments and why he is so revered by many was his ability to change the thinking and attitude of the American people. The country under Carter was heading in a downward spiral, everything from the assassination of JFK, Vietnam, Nixon's impeachment, the Iranian Hostage crises, ridiculously high inflation/interest rates and a struggling economy had beaten the people down and had the questioning the future, Reagan changed that. Another example if Obama and his constant attacks on business. It's not surprising that Obama experienced the slowest economic recovery in history despite having zero interest rates and adding trillions to the money supply. No business person in their right mind would invest in their business with the way Obama was attacking them. Of course I'm speaking of those businesses that were not butt buddies with Obama and the Democrats. Enter Trump and his polar opposite approach and attitude towards business. Unemployment at record law levels, rising GDP, Increasing wages, millions off of food stamps, record high stock market, consumer confidence levels not seen in decades. Yes Presidents have a huge impact on the economy.
They can have an impact and still not be the driving force. It’s not their baby. They like to claim it is when it’s good and not when it’s bad.
