Best Tablet experiences?

Doesn't need to do everything, but still would like a little horsepower. See that Google and apple both have some highly rated tablets. The Microsoft surface is called a tablet and is also highly rated.

But for purposes of primarily reading and Web browsing, with the option to do a little more if needed, anybody have some good or bad reviews of any tablets to share?
 
If it is mainly for web browsing and reading - I'd suggest a Kindle Fire from Amazon if you are already an Amazon prime member. You can get anywhere from a base model for around 50 bucks or one with some extra horse power and video resolution for 400.

Reviewed them all last summer and could not be happier with my Samsung running Android. The Nook app can go backwards for no apparent reason, but it's flawless otherwise.
