Many of these stories are years old FYI
And the most serious things were never reported to the police. So the fact Cstar isn’t in cuffs half a day after the police knew about it (at the most) doesn’t mean much. The police don’t read the paper in the morning and use that to decide their schedule for the day.

Nevermind. You don't know anything about any of this obviously

There are cases where, based on the circumstances, I am certain that a person is guilty long before the criminal justice systems adjudicates them guilty. Kyle Snyder for example. I was positive after reading the news story that he was guilty of soliciting prostitution. It was obvious what happened and there was no realistic defense.

In other cases, like this one, the surrounding circumstances make me want a more robust investigation before I form an opinion. Based on the amount of smoke and the fact that Starocci is a total jerk, I think the odds are very good that he is guilty of something. What that is and how serious of a crime it is, I have no idea.

The rape is probably unprovable. Most are.

The thefts are easy enough to cover up at this point. No search warrant was issued at the time and I'm sure all the stolen goods are long gone by now.

Sending young girls unsolicited nude photos may also be unprovable if they were sent on Snapchat and not saved at the time.

Same for the photos of Beau and another teammate that Carter allegedly took of them in the shower/locker room. The story said Carter shared those with people over Snapchat. I'm sure Carter has destroyed the phone he took them on by now as well.

Overall I expect that hard evidence for these crimes will be very hard to come by. It would probably be hard to get the police to prosecute and you would need a lot of these people who have thus far remained anonymous to testify.

The reporting seems sound to me and most of all, I believe Beau.

I think people have to ask themselves if Beau would lie about Carter taking an unwanted photo of him coming out of the shower and then spreading it around to other teammates.

Correct but these are all old and the stuff taken to the police already hasn't amounted to anything.
So the rape was reported? Does the story say that and I missed it? Why didn’t PSU say that? Seems a complete non-story if the police investigated the rape and found nothing. I would have had that statement ready to go in 10 minutes if I was Cael.

The police didn't get all this yesterday it's been going on a while. Innocent until proven guilty here in America. Just remember to keep this energy when the next one drops. And I will say innocent until proven guilty

So the sexual assault was reported to the authorities? That would mean nothing came of it. Why isnt CStar a part of the NLWC? Seems crappy to cast out a kid who was cleared.

Life tip, Snapchat retains everything. Law enforcement can obtain everything you send on that platform with a search warrant.

As to the other things, none of those alleged crimes are unprovable. If he committed those crimes, there are multiple witnesses who can either corroborate or discredit the allegations. A robust investigation will parse that out and give us a better idea of what happened.

Rape is often unprovable. Bruises, DNA, etc doesn't necessarily prove it was nonconsensual. The other sexual assault in the story would definitely be unprovable.

Less than 4% of reported rapes, sexual assaults, and child sex abuse allegations in certain cities across the United States ever result in a sex crime conviction, an NBC News investigation found.

And that's of those that are reported. The vast majority go unreported.

You don't need physical evidence to prove a rape or sexual assault. Put the victim on the stand. If jury believes the victim's testimony, that alone can be sufficient to support a conviction. It is not "unprovable."

I said it is often unprovable. That is born out by the statistics I provided above. A tiny fraction of sexual assaults end with convictions. The burden of proof is not do you personally believe the victim. The burden of proof is beyond a reasonable doubt.

Campus police couldn't contact him for 6 months so investigation was closed, wtf they couldn't walk into the practice room or snag him at a home dual? Or walking across campus. This is a joke and a coverup by at least Carl and maybe higher up

Yeah, I’m no lawyer, but isn’t it illegal to ignore requests for talking to the police? Did they send certified mail requests? Or did they really try?

This part looks pretty bad to me.

Or, the facts as presented are incorrect or incomplete, which skews the picture.

Cancel culture is real. We just saw it at UNC as well.
So now CStar is a victim of cancel culture? You kinda keep moving the goal posts on every single argument you make on here when slightly pushed.

You might be right on all of this and the Jax situation. I have no idea. You clearly are passing along what you are hearing but you are acting like you have facts and first hand knowledge.

I get told things. Sometimes they are spot on. Other times they are way off.

That is not illegal. In fact, if you are under criminal investigation, it is almost always a good idea to ignore requests to talk to the police.

Absolutely correct. Perfect for shut the f%#^ up Friday

With that said, if my athlete was dodging police, we’d have a problem. And it appears the police were hindered in some way if they couldn’t just walk into the wrestling room. The phrasing is weird. If they were allowed to, why not say he refused to talk to us? Sure feels like interference, or incompetence one or the other

Maybe cael told him to avoid and not talk

You said then why would the RTC get rid of him and it's because cancel culture 🤷

We have discussed that situation and I have provided all the information so you can get answers to all your questions . You know the sang it's been discussed until we were blue in the face it definitely applies here. You don't want answers you just wanna keep debating this and I have nothing left to debate with you.

So, him dodging isn’t an indication of maybe moving the case forward? Doesn’t make sense to be able to commit crimes and simply stop investigations by silence?

Where there is smoke there is fire.

This stuff doesn’t just get made up or come from nowhere. Could some be over exaggerated? Sure but this isn’t good and it’s pretty clear C Star has some problems.

Im guessing Carl or someone on staff knew it would move to student court which is probably like the animal house scene after 6 months- it's probably in a manual somewhere, so they advised him to dodge the campus police for six months

The police in happy valley sure seem to fall off the trail pretty easy.

If I’m a cop, and a guy dodges me like that, I’m getting a warrant or something. It’s almost always an indication of foul in the interviewees thought process.

This is a big part that makes that place look bad in this whole deal.

It’s def possible that negative recruiting could happen…and should. I bet David is on the phone to James as we speak, and Ross. I wouldn’t send my kids to a place that has the law presence of Rosco Brown from Ogallalla, Arkansas.

I have been in the opposing locker room and on the bench for a few duals at Penn st. And they offer a police officer for both teams to sit outside the locker room and walk you to the arena floor. So police saw Carter at every home dual and could've set up a time to talk. Him not being talked to is very strange

This won't move the needle for any parents. The kids heading that way are going because they feel it's the best place to achieve the dreams they've had. All the titles and medals aren't gonna stop them over this .

Also ask around about how things have been handled around Stillwater in the past. You know I gotta POKE you Chase 🤣

Is that anything like a CS poke?

We are also talking about campus police investigating a pretty small theft. This isn't the FBI investigating a terrorist plot. You ever tried to get the police do anything about small theft? It isn't exactly high on their priority list.
IDK about PSU but on other campuses I have been to this and PI's is what campus police live for, with the occassional SA.

Yeah, but 1) are they PSU campus police or real police? and 2) Im fairly certain they arent sending the detectives to do the guarding of the teams. No way they are getting involved, they need the coach/team to like them in that role. I think we all agree that itis more than likely that wrestling staff, and maybe Cael, did not go out of their way to allow him to be interviewed and potentially actively discouraged it.

A guy who worked for me had his car stolen. He went to the police and they found it later in the day smashed up and deserted. The police said, "well here is your car. Have a nice day." He asked them if they were going to file a report or anything and they said no. They do not mess with that. He made them at least take a picture so he could turn it into insurance.

You are correct. The police do not bother with petty stealing - as we saw with eh CA laws about there under 1000 dollars. ( I know that law has recently been changed)
