Listening to the Pokes Report podcast, the two hosts had Tom Dirato as a guest. I’m not much a fan of Tom’s as he comes across an arrogant know-it-all most of the time, but that being said, he offered some insight on the team…
He said that he doesn’t expect Harrison to play this year and that his eligibility issues won’t get worked out in time. Great.
Of the newcomers to the team, he said Williams looks the best and should play and contribute. He didn’t really say any areas he excelled other than just looking the part and doesn’t look like a typical freshman. Not sure what to make of that, and it kinda makes me once again think of the comparisons of Ice as I believe similar comments were made about him as a freshman.
A discussion came up about Kalib and the potential for him to be more consistent. Tom made specific mention that he and Cissa go out it really aggressively at each other in practice. The question is, will that aggressiveness translate for him in every game? What lineup would they consider with Kalib, Cissa, and Smith sharing the floor?
