I wonder how many times a third place team has broken 100 points.....would require some more digging I don't have the time for at the moment haha.
Last time was 2017 by a team called Okalhoma State with 103 points. Iowa finished a distant 4th that year too.

Before that, it was Minny in 2013 with 103 points. In 2012, four team scored more than 100 points.

Before that, wrestling didn't exist (PSU joke) 🤣

Thanks for the pics!
Would be interesting to know what the TV ratings for the finals were and just imagine if it wasn’t going head to head with basketball March Madness?

I'm old enough to remember when PSU existed and had some very good teams and then went nonexistent for many years and then they came back and have been doing ok for the last 14 years or so..... ;)

We did it in 2001 (115pts; 1,2,2,3,5,6) and 2017 (103pts; 1,4,4,4,5,5,6,7). We also had 99.5 in 2021 when what's-his-name finished 1st and would have been over 100 if not for the Fix screw-job.

OU did it in '82, Iowa in '90, OU in 02, Iowa in 12, Minn in 13

Cornell had 102.5 while finishing 4th in 2012.

WHAT. A. SEASON.

The future is bright for Cowboy Wrestling! Psu balled out like we all expected and Nebraska had a hell of a tourney but ANYONE can see that ALL the momentum is with DT & Co and the Cowboys!

Lots of highs and lows in this tournament just like every year but the ending the Cowboys had with Dean and Wyatt was THE ENDING WE NEEDED!

.......and David Taylor is just getting started!

I would guess that as he gets older he will have to field some John McEnroe/1980 Wimbledon type questions as to his greatest moment in college wrestling but believing that we/OSU won. It almost seems that way to me now.
