The championships start with Greco competition on September 7th, 2015 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The arena is a 9,500 seat arena at the Orleans Hotel and Casino. Freestyle wrestling starts at Thursday, 9/10/15 at 10AM. There is only one freestyle weight that day for men and it is 65kg or Brent Metcalf's weight. The other weights are wrestled on Friday, Saturday 9/11 & 12. Tickets are going fast and all of the Gold and Silver tickets have been sold (read middle of the arena). Michael Tognetti, Oberebo,Mr. Earl and KC Scott will be in attendance but the price has spiraled on us in recent days. One of the four of us has a relative that has a three bedroom house in Las Vegas which is currently unoccupied and thus we have free housing. We thought that was a great deal and we were able to get cheap airfare by driving to Dallas where we have obtained flights for just under $200.00 round trip. Throw in car rental in Las Vegas for the four of us at $170.00 which includes their insurance and it is still a cheap trip(well not cheap for a poor boy like me but still in range).
The kicker came yesterday when it was suggested we might go ahead and get tickets to the event as the Mat.com indicated they were fast selling out and indeed as I mentioned above the entire middle of the arena is sold out. As of yesterday when I purchased the tickets for the four of us the All-session cheap seats were selling for $233.75 each and when you get over that sticker shock and bravely punch the button to buy aforesaid tickets you find that they have added $168.30 Service fee and a $20.00 shipping fee for a grand total of $1,123.30 or split four ways $280.30 apiece. The cheap trip has suddenly become a rendition of Mr. Blandings builds his dream house" for those of you old enough to recall this 1940's Cary Grant Movie.
The tickets I purchased yesterday I saw had gone up to$314.00 apiece before the dreaded service fee.
You can now buy tickets in just about any area that were snatched up by promoters but the cheapest near to the middle seats I saw were going for $488.00 per pop and tickets in section 115 which is still not quite in the middle of the arena are going for $697.00 per pop. Just to bore the reader further I checked today to see if since we are only going to be there for the Freestyle what tickets were selling for in our area on a daily basis and learned the cheapest seat onThursday only is $72.00 but the price goes up to $176.00 for Firiday and Saturday so bought individually it would cost each person $424.00 which makes our $237.75 All Session seating look good. BTW I know four people who will gladly sell you tickets for the 7th, 8th and 9th if you like Greco and women's freestyle. Contact me for further information at I Have cheap seats.com.
