OSU v. Utah Valley

The Cowboys travel to Orem Utah on Friday to face the Utah Valley Wolverines at 8:00 (CST). Looks like it will be carried on Flo. rankings are Intermat/Flo and expected starters via wrestlestat. Utah Valley beat CSU Bakersfield 25-15, and lost to Stanford 29-12 and Nebraska 32-7 so are 1-2 on the year.

125: (6/6) Troy Spratley (0-0) v. Bridger Ricks (4-2). Jr. Transfer Ricks went to OT against top 5 ranked Caleb Smith (Nebraska) last weekend so he could be a little dangerous. Still hard not to pick Spratley here for a major (4-0)

133: (33/33) Cael Hughes (4-0) or Reece Witcraft (0-0) v. Kase Mauger (5-2): Kase is a senior with an overall 35-30 record and should be easy work for either guy. Tech fall. (9-0)

141: (14/12) Tagen Jamison (4-0) v. Haiden Drury (6-1). Drury kept it close v. #4 Brock Hardy last weekend only losing 4-0. Could keep it close here too, but IF this is Tagen, I think he gets a MD like he did last March. (13-0)

149: (18/21) Carter Young (0-0) v. Q'veli Quintanilla (1-2) or Tanner Frothinger (2-3). Q'Veli started their first dual, but Frothinger has gone the other two and was pinned pretty quickly by Ridge Lovett. Neither will match up with Young. Tech fall. (18-0)

157: (8/12) Teague Travis (0-0) v. Ryker Fullmer (3-2): Fullmer got teched by Anterll Taylor (Nebraska) and I expect much the same here. (23-0)

165: (5/6) Cam Amine (0-0) v. (6/7) Terrell Barraclough (5-0). Obviously the match of the night. Barraclough is a really good wrestler who was stuck behind elite wrestlers for much of his time at Penn State. He is 47-19 for his career and has 2 pins and 3 majors in his first 6 matches this year with only his match against #7 Hunter Garvin (Stanford) being close (11-9 win). Im going to give this one to Bear Claw for the simple fact that he's been wrestling matches for 2 weeks and might be a little more prepared. (23-3)

174: (5/4) Dean Hamiti (0-0) v. Mark Takara (3-2): Takara was teched by the two good guys he's wrestled this year (Lenny Pinto and Lorenzo Norman), and Hamiti is better than either of those guys. Pin. (29-3)

184: (3/3) Dustin Plott (0-0) v. Caleb Uhlenhopp (4-2): Although Uhlenhopp kept it close v. #6 Silas Allred, Plott is another level. MD using on a TF here. (33-3)

197: (19/20) Luke Surber (0-0) v. Kael Bennie (2-3): Bennie was able to hold off AJ Ferrari to the 3rd period before losing by TF. Look for Surber to want to make a statement. MD, but close to a TF (37-3)

HWT: (2/2) Wyatt Hendrickson (0-0) v. Jack Forbes (3-1). Hendrickson pinned him last year in the first period. Will happen again. (43-3)

Theory regarding Gundy

I believe the only thing that explains how a team with everyone back from a 10 win team becomes the worst team in the Big 12:

Gundy is retiring. He told the staff before the year it would be his last so they could keep their ear to the ground for other jobs. The staff always hated Nardo (they think he doesn't know anything) and while they helped him last year are not helping at all or doing the bare minimum. I remember the last time Gundy hired a lower division coaching wizz (Yurcich) in 2013 the offensive staff really had to pitch in. So much so the win over highly ranked Baylor that year was a staff affair pitching in, Wickline and Dunn inserting some of the 2010-2012 offense. With Gundy leaving, the defensive coaches want to see Nardo fail as massively as possible. They were looked over for this asshole.

Thus the defense is suffering from a DC who sucks and position coaches already looking for the next gig.

The offense suffers because Dunn sucks, Dickey knows he is not getting another power 4 job and just plans on retiring, and Gundy disengaged after the first loss and is just not up for another reclamation job. No spirit, no passion, no guidance from this staff.

Sad because the roster on paper is as good and should have been better than last year.

Gundy is retiring and we will find that out the last game.

Going To Be Fun Watching The Washington Bureaucracy Oppose The Government Efficiency Revolution

Any tax paying American should be on board with government becoming more efficient and less costly considering we are 36 trillion in debt and climbing rapidly. I have no doubt Democrats, some Republicans and all the leftist in this country meltdown screaming this is Armageddon every time there is a proposal to reduce government. Should be fun.
Every company I have ever worked for or owned has looked for ways to become more efficient, provide better customer service and of course create more profits. Why would anyone think government should not be the same?

A common thread running through Trump's cabinet picks

All are excellent communicators who have no fear of the media.
Particularly, look at the positions that will be having the most interactions with the media:

Trump
Vance
Hegseth
Gaetz
Tulsi
RFK

All well trained in effective communication and well versed in handling the media's bullshit.

I think this was intentional, because Trump knows that while they are saving America, that the media will be spinning that they are killing America. And if you were gullible enuff to believe the media when they told you Kamala would win, you will likely be gullible enuff to believe them when they tell you that Trump is destroying America.

Want an eye opener? Look at Trump's first cabinet:

You wouldn't see that many RINOs on an African safari. It's amazing he got anything done.

OSU Attendance Records

Gallagher's seating capacity listed as 13,611 (don't know if that includes boxes) but we officially had 13,721 for the Iowa duel last year and our record crowd is the '17 PSU duel, listed as 14,059.

Just for fun and given those numbers, what is your guess for:
1) Attendance for the season opener against Wyoming (this is a Friday night)
2) Attendance against ASU (maybe easier to get to a Sunday duel)
3) Season average attendance record (currently a seemingly paltry 5,871)
4) Single duel attendance record
5) Single duel attendance record opponent

I have nothing to give to the winner(s) here except the honor of being right and after reading a myriad posts and responses I'm absolutely sure that nearly everyone on this site would take bragging rights over a prize any day.

Here's the rules;
Whoever is the closest (+ or -) wins (duh)
In case of a tie; closest without going over
Still a tie (1-3); closest to the next question (be sure to answer all four)
Still a tie (4-5); closest to the previous question
If, incredibly, there is still a tie I will pick who I like best as a person

The deadline will be 11/22 morning (I wake from 6 to 9 and I’ll take some screen shots)
Think it through and post once, no edits. If your post is edited, you’re out

That's it. My thread, my rules. Don't like 'em, don't play

Half nickel, class is in session

@my_2cents pay attention.

Remember when we were discussing polls? I told you to look at Atlas Intel, Rasmussen, Trafalgar and InsiderAdvantage.

You claimed they were 'right wing' polls, and that's why I was looking at them. I told you no, I looked at them cause they were proven to be the most accurate in the last cycles.

And it continues this time...

All 4 of them in the Top 5 for accuracy in state polls in the swing states.

Your favs, such as Marist, Morning Consult, YouGov and NYT were all 10th or lower.

You were going by the polls that were telling you that Harris was winning. That's why they did so badly.

I was going by the polls that were the most accurate. That's how I knew Trump was going to win.

This is a teachable moment for you: Next election, if you want to look at polls, look at the credible ones. Not the ones telling you the lie you want to hear.
