I'd argue it is child abuse because you are giving a lifetime-altering decision to a child to make knowing full-well they lack the experience, knowledge, or mental capacity to make such a decision.

It's child abuse if someone raises their kids without gender labels so they can figure it out on their own but it's OK to raise kids to believe in a fictional magical being that answers prayers and damns people to hell if they don't obey the words of an old book?

One of those actually seems like it could be harmful, and it's not the one being labeled child abuse in this thread.
