So does Daton have a chance to compete for a world title now that he got 3rd?

This article pretty much sums it up.
Agree, bullshit politicsBurroughs beats Chance on a crap penalty point. Really crappy way to lose. 3-3.
Chance was the more offensive and better wrelster.
Don’t love the call for Chance there so do we call it square now and say matches 1 and 3 were crap and chance won the second fair and square.Agree, bullshit politics
What did happen? Remember being super excited about him then he vanished.Really good story. Regardless of what happened here that is a kid who battled demons. Really neat moment for him.
It was remarkable, and it was also clearly a part of his downfall with us.The cut Marsteller made to go 157 was pretty remarkable. There wasn’t much gas in the tank but he was doing his part to make the team.
The culture didn't help. And I don’t think this was a case of cultural partying issues with the team. This was more specific to the individual. Regardless it’s unfortunate things didn’t work out differently when he was in Stillwater bc I think he could have been up there with some of the best to come through the doors. Happy to see him have this kind of success though. I remember him AA’ing his senior year. I think that was a few years ago, anyway I just remember how emotional he was and him talking about his long journey to get there. Well deserved.
If I recall 165 was Dieringer, not sure he was taking that spot.It was remarkable, and it was also clearly a part of his downfall with us.
My memory must be very foggy on this but I thought he was a top 5 recruit coming out and had an impressive RS year? Reading the comments it sounds like the opposite. I do remember the off mat issues etc.
Absolutely. Wasn’t saying there was a hole somewhere else for him and I don’t think he was “forced” to go 157, but it definitely was too much of a cut for him as he said later on. Unfortunately the other option was ride the bench or try and beat Crutchmer at 174, who ended up an AA that season. Just bad timing for him.If I recall 165 was Dieringer, not sure he was taking that spot.
And 2 hour weigh-ins start this season.Looks like Daton is going 57KG in Poland this weekend . Interesting if he stays down for college season. Plott also will be wrestling.
Guerrero?And 2 hour weigh-ins start this season.
USAW article says Brayden Thompson is also competing (86 kg). So 3 wrestlers & 2 coaches (Fix & Guerrero) going. Nice representation by the CWC.
