**updated** forgot about little Marsden and Keegan

The Junior and Senior World Team Trials are this weekend. For Juniors, Daton has a bye to the finals at 55 kg and little Marsden has a bye to the finals at 96 kg. Keegan Moore is registered at 84 kg.

For Seniors, JO has a bye to the finals at 65 kg. OSU tweeted that 6 current or former Cowboys are competing, so that is probably Josh Kindig (61 kg), JO (65 kg), Dean Heil (65 kg), Ringer (74 kg), Chris Perry (74 kg) and Kyle Crutchmer (86 kg).

Attached below are Flo's projected seeds - I'm not sure why Chris Perry isn't listed.

Gfeller not on the Jr list, is he injured? I'm not going to make it up there until Saturday.

Some have yet to register, like Yianni and Vito, so hopefully Kaden competes. He would be undersized at 66 kg, but it would be good experience. Maybe ostatefan23 knows his plans?

That's great that you're going. Should be some good wrestling.

Oliver withdraws-haven't seen a definitive answer as to why. Anyone got any info?

USA Wrestling reported that JO tested positive for a stimulant at the US Open and that he will be requesting a review (and possible wrestle-off). Feel bad for Jordan and I hope it works out for him. One of my favorite Cowboys.

Wish it had been a weight or injury issue. The article indicates it was a banned "stimulant". JO says it was an "honest mistake". I do not want to rush to judgement but it is a big disappointment that may lead to a year or more suspension. Hard to come back from something like that. It is a problem for JO and his fans but as far as the US team is concerned there was only a hair's difference between he and the two Penn State wrestlers and IMO Retherford has more upside. I know that is not popular on this board but just my thoughts on it.

It's hard to say who has the most upside internationally at 65 kg. Molinaro is certainly the most proven on the senior level as JO and Zain haven't wrestled overseas much.

Still don't know if Chris Perry is wrestling tomorrow.

Man that stinks.....always fun to have JO in the mix.... this ultimately could close out his career... I sure hope not!

Fix 15-4 tf over Courtney and is on the Jr. world team.Gomez over McKee in 2nd match 11-8 to tie the series. I have to go mow.

Marsden loses 20-8 in round 2.
More competitive than the 1st match but little Marsden scored mostly on counters.

Keegan Moore avenged his US Open loss to Venz, lost in the semis and then was lat dropped for a fall in the consolations. I thought he looked good overall, he mixed in some leg attacks with his upper body stuff.

Heinselman, Fix, McKee, Deakin, Hall, Valencia, Moore and Steveson make the Junior World Team.

Brackets are out for Seniors. No Chris Perry. First round matchups:
Kindig faces Colon at 61 kg
Dean faces Futrell at 65 kg
Alex has a bye at 74 kg
Kyle faces Downey at 86 kg

AD loses 2-2 to Dake. Dake is amazing but I'm not sure he took a shot the whole match. AD got in deep twice and Dake scored off the first one and then shut it down. Considering their first meeting Alex seems to be closing the gap with Dake some.

Dake is obviously successful, but not very exciting to watch. A great counter wrestler that manages matches extremely well, but he doesn't look to score points.

Other Cowboy results:
Kindig falls to Wright 10-4 in semis then falls to Chris Dardanes 5-4 in consolation semis
Dean beats Mason 4-3 in consolations then falls to Nick Dardanes 10-0 in consolation semis
Ringer faces Imar later for true 2nd
Kyle beats Rau 5-2 in consolations then falls to Perry 9-3 in consolation semis

Alex beats Imar 4-2 for true 2nd and makes the national team again I believe.

Finals (best of 3 tonight):
57 kg: Ramos vs Gilman
61 kg: Stieber vs Maple
65 kg: Molinaro vs Retherford
70 kg: Green vs Kennedy
74 kg: Burroughs vs Dake
86 kg: Cox vs Taylor
97 kg: Snyder vs Gadson
125 kg: Gwiazdowski vs Bradley

DAKE DIDN'T REALLY TAKE ONE COMMITTED SHOT... . HE HAS WORLD CLASS DEFENSE BUT NOT SO MUCH OFFENSE. ALEX IS CLOSING THE GAP BUT HE HAS TO FINISH HIS SHOTS IF HE WANTS TO BE THE BEST.

Dake should have been put on the shot clock 2 or 3 times. I do not like Gilman but he has wrestled better than I've ever seen him.

Gilman, Stieber,Retherford, Green, Burroughs cox, Snyder and Gwiz are the world team members, Cox did it on one leg for the last three minutes as he hyperextended his knee at end of first period. Very heroic wrestling. Dake and Burroughs went to the third match to decide it and it was all Burroughs in the third match. Stieber looked sharp, Retherford outlasted Molinaro. Green on his third world team and Kyle Snyder had two techs against Gadsen.

Why was Taylor mad? He threw a fit about the refs but I'm not sure why. I probably missed something.

It was an amazing day of wrestling.

It was an amazing day of wrestling.

Maybe he was looking for a caution and 2 on Cox for evading? Also, did they say Sanderson picked up a chair at the end? Maybe Mrgrapple can tell us what happened.

Anyway, some fantastic wrestling tonight. Congrats to our world team members.

Taylor cussed the ref wanting a caution on Cox. The ref tried to give him a yellow card and Sanderson did throw his chair onto the mat. Taylor was also cussing at or to Zadick as he left the arena. Acted like a total jerk.

what was zadicks role?

He's the national team coach. He was not matside but over by the post match interview area and exit from the floor.

I'd have to go back and watch but I think there was some potential questions with the 2 Cox received at the end of the first (although Taylors coaches didn't challenge).

Did Taylor get the 2 on the TD where Cox was injured? Taylor's coaches were complaining of the sweat all over the mat and no cautions being called towards the end. It all probably added to the anger we saw coming from Taylor and coaches.

Hate that for Taylor. He has all the tools, but can't break through to that next level. Unfortunately for him, two of the best ever in Dale and Burroughs are at his natural weight, and Cox is just to big for him,I think.

If you can't even beat a one-legged man, can you really get upset at anyone else?

Pains me to see that because I'm a huge DT fan.
