White men fleeing Trump

Consider that a Mexican billionaire (Carlos Slim) owns the New York Times who is VERY interested in the US maintaining our open borders status quo. (particularly the $24.8 billion dollars of remittances sent from the USA to Mexico, tax free)

Re Carlos Slim:

Regulators in Mexico, sometimes against their government’s wishes, had tried for decades to rein in Mr. Slim’s dominance, finding themselves thwarted at every turn.

His monopoly was so dominant that it cost Mexicans an extra $13 billion a year between 2005 and 2009, according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Still, his wealth, armies of lawyers and government connections kept him a step ahead of weak regulators, former officials say.

Re remittances:

Remittances are monies sent by foreign-born workers (legal immigrants and illegal aliens) back to their home country. The transfers are facilitated by sending money through banks, making investments in the home country, or by returning to the home country while retaining bank accounts and other assets in the United States.

Remittances are essentially a tax-free transfer of wealth out of the U.S. Approximately $20 billion of Mexican remittances each year disappear from the U.S. economy via the institutionalized money transfer industry, never to return.

While this massive amount may be considered virtual foreign aid, it is a non-sanctioned transfer of wealth that is based on a fundamental violation of America’s immigration and employment laws.

Projecting $26 billion sent as tax-free remittances by illegal aliens to Mexico in 2014, the negative impacts of this loss on the American economy would be significant. That amount would purchase 1.5 million cars or 15-million computers, and $200 billion sent back to Mexico over the past 10 years would have purchased Americans an astounding number: 15 million cars along with 150 million additional computers. It well could have saved countless homeowners from foreclosure.

Trump wants to impound all remittances to Mexico from illegal wages. (sucks for Mexico, but it was never legal to begin with --- plus we can use this money to re-build our inner cities, which is GREAT for legal black American citizens)

"Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things:

  • impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages
  • increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them)
  • increase fees on all border crossing cards – of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays)
  • increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays)
  • increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options]."

Doesn't the Sulzberger family still manage the NYT? The article I found on WSJ regarding Slim exercising his options states they still own the vast majority of Class B shares which appoints the majority of board members?

What is it that we think people are doing with those remitted dollars?
