All sorts of things really. Lots of Crooked Stave, some Bookers, some Balvenie, and a few Negronis.

One other I'd like to mention is the new Framboise Rose Gose from Anderson Valley. If you loved their original Gose (The Kimmie, the Yink, and the Holy Gose), then you'll likely love this one too. Very similar taste IMO. Slightly more fruit flavor.

I've gotten into some Whistle Pig lately.
For beer it has been a combo of 90 Shilling and Yellow Belly
I finished the last of a 6 pack of 90 Shilling last week. Just got back from visiting my daughter's home in Katy. They have a Total Wine store < 5 minutes away. Didn't grab any 90 Shilling this time. Got a lot of Funkwerks and Dragon's Milk. I'm not familiar with Yellow Belly.

Yellow belly is an imperial stout kind of like Prague Bomb. Very thick, with a taste of peanut butter.

Just had my national sales meeting and it's always a great time for beer exchange. On a side note, you'd be surprised how many people, nationwide, are interested in Oklahoma beer. I got a dark lord, lost abbey cable car and heady topper.

Excellent

amazing

good but I don't get the hype.

Was in Houston for sister-in-laws wedding...Drank a TON of St. Arnold's stuff (Lawnmower is one of my favorites), Zigenbach, Shiner, El Hefe, Dos Equis..

Back home I've been on the usual Delirium Tremens, Dos Equis, Canoe Paddler, and others...

I had Ziegenbock at the Astros game Saturday. Outside of their micro brewery takeovers, probably the best beer Anheuser-Busch produces. There's a big St. Arnold's pavilion (sort of a beer garden) in the stadium.

American Solera is a damn good brewery. There are other good ones as well. I still like Prairie, although I think they have gone down a notch since Chase sold out.

Thought Ziegenbach was a brewery that AB purchase years back? Love that stuff, but wish they'd sell outside of Tejas.

Nah, they came up with it long ago to combat Shiner. It is now available in some neighboring states. You can find it in Oklahoma.

The Fuzzy's Taco shop here in Longmont has 90 schilling on tap. Happy hour is 20oz glasses for $3. So I've had some 90 Schilling lately, especially when a lot of places charge twice that for a pint. Nice to have some good beer at a reasonable price for a change.

At home I have some Woodford Reserve straight bourbon that I've been enjoying this spring as a nightcap or just as a treat while I log back in to work from 9pm to midnight.

Friend picked me up ten 6 packs of Ballast Point Mango Even Kiel from Texas. Love that beer. Had some Unita Lime Pilsners, Vanessa House Cream Ale 401k, F5, 60-minute ipa, Black Mesa Kolsch, Black Mesa ESB, and Stone Scorpion Bowl IPA.

I bought a new Ballast Point in Houston (more for my wife) that I hadn't seen in OK to date. Tart Peach Kolsch.

I'll let you know how it is. So far the only beer of theirs that has let me down is Sour Wench. It wasn't awful, just blah.

Please do. Had the Abita Peach and it was a little too peachy.

Clown Shoes makes a great Mango Kolsch. One of my favorite beers.

Sour Wench is pretty mediocre. Everything else from Ballast I’ve had is legit.

The Bright D Weisensour from Iron Monk is probably my favorite beer right now. It’s been hard to find without going directly to the tap room. My local liquor store can’t keep it on the shelf and can hardly get it from their distributor.

I like that Iron Monk beer. I wouldn't call it a favorite, but it's good. They are a solid brewery IMO.

Agreed. Besides the Stilly Wheat, I’ve really liked everything I’ve had from them.

I’ve been having this conversation with my buddy that owns the liquor store I frequent. I think the OK beer scene is pretty under rated. I get to travel a lot and always look for local beers and breweries. There are a lot of really mediocre to terrible beers out there. I haven’t had anything from Coop, Iron Monk etc that’s just awful.

I’ve never had a wheat beer I’ve liked. Should have qualified that. The double IPA from Iron Monk in a purple can is pretty solid also.

Has anyone found The Waldos by Lagunitas? Supposed to come out this month.

Not sure why but Iron Monk's Velvet Antler is one of my favorite cans. Agreed with Marshall that their Chocolate Habanero is really good (especially on tap).

I've been enjoying going to the Brewers Union in OKC. Vanessa House, Angry Scotsman and Elk Valley all share a tap room.

I've been drinking a lot of Vanessa House's Garage Fire (nothing fancy, just a good, solid pale ale) and Elk Valley's The Ocho stout.

I don't like standard wheat beers either.

But I like Gose, which is > 50% wheat on the malt bill. A favorite is Lagunitas' Little Sumpin Sumpin, which is a hybrid Pale Ale/Weat. And that Brite D WeizenSour is a sour wheat beer.

I’m with ya there.

Gose is my jam!
Thurman was the one who got me to try The Kimmie, The Yink, & the Holy Gose 4 or so years ago I think. I've never looked back. And that really got me started on all sorts of sour and tart beers.

If you're ever in the Atlanta area, try this beer: http://www.orpheusbrewing.com/beers/atalanta/?ao_confirm.

Plum saison (they use saison yeast, but no that saison-like to my taste buds); tart, but amazingly drinkable and delicious. I wish I could figure out how to get it here.

I’ve recently discovered the Saison style. Really like those also.

I'm officially hatching a plan to have you two homos kidnapped and forced to drink Bud Light until I'm tired of chortling.

PBR yes, Bud Light; HELL NO!

Tart Peach Kolsch is a tasty warm weather drinker. Good for after mowing the grass, which I just did. Real good balance, slightly tart and acidic, fairly subtle on the peach.

Rotating through a few scotches in the cabinet .. Getting low in a couple bottles and just thinking about what to get next.

I've been drinking a lot of Celis beers since they returned recently. Celis Raspberry just hit the DFW area in the last couple of weeks. Very tasty, not sweet, and exactly as I remember it from 20 years ago. That and Celis White are out in cans now too. I see these as major poolside beers this summer.

Glenlivet 12
Glenfiddich 15
Ardbeg Corryvreckan
Singleton 12 Glendullen
I bought a bottle of the Ardbeg 10 (their flagship) as part of a gift set at Christmas 2 or 3 years backs. Whew! That stuff tasted like Campho-Phenique to me. I mean that literally.

I've got my go to Balvenie Double Wood, Oban 14 and Macallan Double Cask 12. I definitely think Speyside is more to my taste typically, but I would like to explore/find something with a little more smoke to it. I just don't think Islay is ever going to be a a taste I will acquire.

Some that I have on my list to acquire are:
  • Aucentoshan (probably the Three Wood)
  • Aberlour A’bunadh (very nearly bought a bottle last week)
  • Talisker

Aucentoshan Three Wood is tasty .. I have an Aucentoshan 24 at home that is, I would assume, like tasting a little bit of heaven .. Man that stuff is good. I rarely pull it out of the cabinet .. I assume the next time I do will be celebrating a first grandchild. One of my pastor's was at the house and he is a real scotch guy, I gave him a dram and he actually brought it up in a sermon a few weeks later - yep, that good.

Abelour A`bunadh is great
Finished a bottle of Talisker Storm back in the fall .. Not bad

I did not think I would every get into the smoke taste either but I have and if you have not tried the Lagavulin 16 .. It's fantastic. I am actually ready to move forward to even more smoke and peat. See what I can take.
