What’s the worst possible wrestling news to start the week?

Like him, love him, hate him….Gilman is going to tell you what he thinks. He has never been one to shy away from that. Maybe slightly? immature and an area where he can grow and learn not to burn every bridge on the way out the door, but that interview was pretty authentic from what I’ve seen of him. He just does not care if you like his opinion but if you ask him for it, he will give it to you. Appreciate his time here and wish him luck. We will get someone good to replace him and hopefully it will be a better long term fit for the staff.

In a nutshell, personal network (family/friends) and desire to compete. He was/is loved by most everybody and leaves here with more lifelong friends than he had before he got here.

His desire to compete, outdrove his desire to coach. His desire to win tore him in both directions. Great dude!
It seems like he has plenty of train partners here. Could be his wife. The situation bothers me a bit, and the fact that he said he would only miss spratley and RBY ( definite slight to everyone else), but he’s has to do what is in the best interest of him and his wife.

He had a job to do here, not train to compete. I don't think the interview was appropriate due to timing and some of the content, but I don't think he intended to slight anybody.

If he were to go on air to cause some problems, there is plenty he could've talked about.

Yeah, I understand Gilman’s personality. He ruffles feathers, he will probably never be a head coach, he speaks his mind too much, but he is a good room guy and a practice leader. I do hope for the best, I’m just a little salty at the moment.

I'm listening ...
Well, lets do this.

He was explicit that some people can't work together, it just doesn't work. 11 months of several hours per day in close proximity to people that you can't work with was bound to generate some stories and grievances.

I was just saying, he could've went into specifics and he didn't.

I was mostly kidding. To me, the whole saga brings up the difficulty of being the outsider on a staff. DT and Kennedy are related, know each other better, and hang out more often than was ever possible for Gilman to achieve. I'm always amazed that Cael and Casey are still so close with Cody in the mix. Maybe they all have separate lives.

Maybe it's all about the brick. ;) As I recall Gilman threw the brick in the 125lb match at Utah V. Sprat didn't need any help, we lost the brick. Amine would've beat Barraclough in the last match if still had brick as locked hands in tb. That win would've been big for seeding. I don't recall Gilman ever having hands on the brick after but could be wrong.
