Some suggestions (feel free to forward to DT)

Tomasello
Gross
Zane Richards (he's going to be a GREAT coach)
Nico
Perrelli
Brewer (dollar for dollar the best lightweight coach in NCAA)
some solid choices, I would LOVE to see Seth Gross get the spot but he is still actively competing. If that doesn't matter, why wouldn't they promote RBY ?

The thing with TG was in large part culture and mental improvement. He is highly intelligent in those regards.
100%. I just think from a straight training angle I have zero doubt that DT is always going to have that room stacked with top flight guys.

Gilman is a loss but it was going to happen soon IMO. I thought he would last more than a year but I never got the feeling he was going to be in Stillwater a decade. Big shoes to fill but if there is anyone in position to fill those shoes it is DT at the moment.

Really? I get all that but the chance to be an OSU assistant will be there at another point. The chance at the Olympics goes away pretty quickly.
I agree with your reasoning and I could be wrong. I just know this guy loves OSU wrestling and the opportunity to be a coach would mean the world to him.

Coleman would be great, but isn't going to be on the mat like Gillman, plus I don't think he would accept. Fix needs to focus on Worlds and Olympics first. JO would probably be the best option but again he is older than Gillman so rolling around on the mat everyday isn't going to be like Gillman was. The fact that we already have Fix and RBY that can fill the mat wrestling (maybe not day to day) but is a lot to continue to push the lightweights.

Love Fix but I think there has to be more than “loves OSU and works hard” on the list. Plus is he vocal enough to lead in that capacity? Does he have the accolades DT wants on staff? Does his suspension play a role?

Personally I’d love to see his redemption arc play out with an Olympic Gold but you know it’s not up to me in the slightest lol

1. he would be

2. yes

3. no. jesus

Fix is the obvious pick AFTER he decides to hang it up.

carl feeling the heat
musta opened the vault for gillman

fix is the obvious choice

this hire gonna say a lot about where we are headed legacy wise
I don't think this move cost Cael a penny other than a standard coaching salary in the RTC.

DT gets a free pass here, especially trying to hit the ground running last May. That was his mulligan. I agree that this hire needs to be someone he can live with long term. Otherwise, he will get a tag he doesn't want. I wouldn't expect a knee jerk reaction and a quick hire. He needs to get this one right.

I agree that a lightweight coach is what you want.
