Yeah, need a lightweight guy.You guys need/want a lightweight guy that can wrestle everyday. Not a ton of those running around with the credentials of Gilman.
Give me Doug Schwab! HahahaThere is exactly no one running around with the credentials of Gilman.
Some suggestions (feel free to forward to DT)There is exactly no one running around with the credentials of Gilman.
Nobody here putting any credit on Lehigh lower weights?
What about Spencer Lee 😎I just think you find a lighter guy IF you can.
Not sure Hawkeye Report would exist anymoreWhat about Spencer Lee 😎
some solid choices, I would LOVE to see Seth Gross get the spot but he is still actively competing. If that doesn't matter, why wouldn't they promote RBY ?Some suggestions (feel free to forward to DT)
Tomasello
Gross
Zane Richards (he's going to be a GREAT coach)
Nico
Perrelli
Brewer (dollar for dollar the best lightweight coach in NCAA)
I think that is the priority of that position.I just think you find a lighter guy IF you can.

The thing with TG was in large part culture and mental improvement. He is highly intelligent in those regards.Don't forget you still have Fix and RBY in the room. While I don't think you ever turn down a high level training partner getting someone who can recruit is every bit as important.
100%. I just think from a straight training angle I have zero doubt that DT is always going to have that room stacked with top flight guys. The thing with TG was in large part culture and mental improvement. He is highly intelligent in those regards.
I think it is probably very hard to be an active competitor and full time coach. Ideally you want someone who is done competing. Why not Promote Fix? If the intent is to get someone in there to work 125-141, seems logical. He's still young, training, and I don't see him being bad...
I wish/hope I'm wrong but I think they ship has more than sailed.Coleman Scott is a proven fantastic coach and he's a light weight!
Really? I get all that but the chance to be an OSU assistant will be there at another point. The chance at the Olympics goes away pretty quickly.I'm pretty sure Fix would retire to be one of our assistants. It's his dream job.
I agree with your reasoning and I could be wrong. I just know this guy loves OSU wrestling and the opportunity to be a coach would mean the world to him.Really? I get all that but the chance to be an OSU assistant will be there at another point. The chance at the Olympics goes away pretty quickly.
He is 27 years old. A lot of wrestlers didn't make their first world team until they were older than Daton is right now.Fix most likely never makes another world team and definitely not an Olympic team.
1. he would beLove Fix but I think there has to be more than “loves OSU and works hard” on the list. Plus is he vocal enough to lead in that capacity? Does he have the accolades DT wants on staff? Does his suspension play a role?
Personally I’d love to see his redemption arc play out with an Olympic Gold but you know it’s not up to me in the slightest lol
It'll be a cold day in hell before a former PSU wrestler ever wears orange shirts, boots, and a cowboy hat. Can't be done. Some suggestions (feel free to forward to DT)
Nico
I don't think this move cost Cael a penny other than a standard coaching salary in the RTC.carl feeling the heat
musta opened the vault for gillman
fix is the obvious choice
this hire gonna say a lot about where we are headed legacy wise
Roper? Can we get UNI light weight coach? Someone mentioned it in wither Iowa/PSU board.
