Welp, conservatism in action.

So you plan to vote for a “real” conservative this next time around...right???
Solid point. I love this sort of thing from you.

Spending bills originate in the House. I didn’t vote for Liz Cheney in the primary in 2016. This time, she has no opponent in the primary. I’m stuck.

Maybe I’ll write you in. Protest vote!

If he has a Republican opponent, I'll decide then who I think is the better representative for the general election.
Thinking for yourself is an unknown concept to Toon. He still requires daily living instructions from his parents.

This is your best post in a long time. While you don’t use the word Republican there is no escaping that Republicans are in charge. But Republicans have not been conservative for a very long time. Your title should have used Republicans instead of Conservatives and it would have been more accurate.

Every Republican that created those numbers ran as a conservative. Like I said, this is conservatism in practice. All the hypothetical ideas are just talk, this is real world conservatism, enacted by real world conservatives.

Excellent point. It is well taken. I don’t necessarily agree, but there is no doubt those Republican politicians want voters to believe they are conservatives. People voted them into office believing they were conservatives. Hell, you may be right, that may be the state of conservative thought today. Something to ponder.

On a side note it is interesting that Democrats are finally believing it is OK to admit they are socialists. It’s something they have tried to keep under wraps, dancing a delicate dance that has confirmed to the socialist true believers they are socialists while maintaining plausible deniability to the more moderate Democratic public. Obviously they think the public has shifted far enough to the left that they can “come out of the closet.” It will be interesting to see how the public reacts. I suppose we will know after these next elections.
