We bought the freedom of Iran hostages

I get you don't like it, but normalizing relations with Iran is happening. All this tin foil hat conjecture is just silly. It is what it is...
Yes, Iran is certainly "normalizing" their relationship with the US. "THE GREAT SATAN!" Sounds warm and fuzzy. They sure are working hard on their end with ballistic missle tests and continued funding of terrorist organizations. Obama is brilliant!

But are Iran's relationships normalizing with us? I would say absolutely 100% no.
I suggest their sheep are as gullible as our sheep. Do you always take your propaganda as genuine?

BTW: not saying this is smart, but describing what I see happening. Iran is absolutely looking to rejoin the international community - doing so on their own terms. Someone in the brain trust that is the US foreign policy establishment, with the support of the POTUS, has decided it is better to engage for the long haul than sustain the isolation game.

Wishful thinking. They have made their intentions clear and "rejoining the international community" hasn't been one of their agenda items.

You'd like it to be so the idiot in chief didn't look like quite the disaster, but Iran doesn't seem to want to cooperate.

They were on the way any how. They will have a nuke in the next decade, bank it. Blasting them to kingdom come apparently wasn't feasible, how do you suggest we handle that?

One way to have handled it would have been to support the Green Movement rebellion in Iran in 2011. We had a chance to encourage a rebellion that was underway. Instead, what did Great Leader do? Nothing. I wonder how many rounds of golf he played while this was ongoing.

Another avenue worth pursuing is to simply green-light Israel and let them do it. They did it before. Let them do it again. They have been threatened enough and are within range of Iranian weaponry to justify action.

What do you see as the Iranian agenda? With Ahmadinejad gone you can throw out the whole 5th Imam crap...

How have those revolutions worked out so far?

If Israel could do it, I am pretty sure they already would have.

We have either done it ourselves or enabled others to assassinate scientists, hack their systems, bomb facilities, and try to bar entry of anything even remotely related to the Nuke program for decades. The Iran nuclear genies isn't going back in the bottle.

Sounds like the Obama administration is "more of the same" and not "change we can believe in."
There isn't a POTUS in modern history who hasn't held their nose and done what is in the best interest of the United States and its citizens. We do deals with "terrorists" - not frequently but often enough.

Google Martin and Gracia Burnham or the Abu Sayyaf Group for examples.

I was speaking about a singular rebellion. It wasn't a full scale revolution yet, which was the point I made. The time was right for change from within Iran.

I wonder how much we are restraining them from making an attempt.

Given everything else we were doing (and the geopolitical costs of doing it), I have to think we would have let the hounds loose if there was any chance they would have done meaningful damage.

I suppose the best way is to lie about it and say we've somehow prevented it and then give them a billion or so to help them along the way.
