I know this comparison hurts, but I’ll add some more salt in the wound. The following teams have now passed us up, many who have fewer resources and were not picked to have good seasons:

Army
TCU
Memphis
Texas Tech
Tulane
Iowa State
Arizona State
Baylor
Colorado
Indiana
South Carolina
Syracuse
Boise State
BYU

I doubt we would have beaten any of these teams this season. These teams are doing better now, we need to correct our trajectory next season, or the path back will be longer than we would ever like to admit.
