I find Shapiro to be pretty sharp, which makes me wonder if he turned down Harris and the VP nod, rather than not being selected by Harris? He would have known what real internal polling looked like, which, per reporting, always had Harris underwater. And as a young and popular swing state governor, he will have ample opportunities in the future (like in '28) to run. Him keeping his powder dry (so to speak) made him one of the few "winners" of the last Dem cycle.
