There have been rumors for weeks that there is a new huge amusement park - like on the scale of Silver Dollar City or a smaller Disneyland - set to be developed just east of my little hometown. There is a formal announcement set for tomorrow where city and state leaders and developers will unveil the plans.
It is looking like the wildest rumors that were going around were accurate, and possibly understated. Big news for this part of the state, sounds like.
Incidentally, there were similar rumors 20-some years ago that a NASCAR track was set to go in west of Vinita. Never came to fruition, thanks in part at least to city leaders annexing the land it was to be on 4 miles outside of the then city limits.
