Is there any truth to the news that AJ skipped big 12s to go to watch the UFC fight in vegas last night?

He appears to have pictures on his own instagram feed….
I heard it first on Seth Duckworth’s twitter…
Not a fan anymore.

Its possible coaches didn't want him in Tulsa, let current guys W/L on their own.

That’s a bad move for him when he’s always preaching about “OSU gang” and family etc. he should of been there supporting his teammates. Wittlake is out there wrestling with a possible torn ACL and Ferrari is out for some unknown issues. Bad look.

I bet lots of Oklahoma State wrestlers who aren't wrestling in the tournament did not go. I'm a Ferrari fan. I bet your right that the Coaches didn't tell him we need you in Tulsa.

Wasn't Rodgers there even after he got kicked to the curb ... Delk-style?

AJ Ferrari is not a traditional cat. Having that expectation of him will likely lead to being let down. There is Good and some Bad, with the Good FAR exceeding the Bad. He gives OSU an identity in this day in age where OSU desperately needs one. OSU is leading the charge of everyone outside of the B1G trying to remain relevant in the sport. Can you imagine what OSU wrestling would be without him right now?

Some may disagree…losing him late in the season is the equivalent of losing Barry Sanders, Robin Ventura, or Cade Cunningham.

Losing him was the difference in another Big Xii title and sitting in 4th most likely. So yeah, anybody who disagrees on that point is likely fooling themselves.

As far as the incident that removed him from competition and the cloud of uncertainty around it, I wholeheartedly disagree. I guess it's my entitlement as a "fan" that wants to know. What are his injuries that are keeping him out? Has there been some discipline handed out for some reason? If he is well enough to go jump around in Vegas at a "party/event" but not well enough to support his team, why?

There is a ton of information that isn't being brought out and it leads to much speculation.

Boy this just feels really disrespectful to me. The kid nearly died, fans don't need to know the gruesome and personal details of how much internal bleeding he had or which of his ligaments are torn. Personally I'd rather be thankful he's okay (and hopefully staying at OSU despite our rough season this year) than start interrogating coaches and athletes about their decisions, man.

It'd be great if he'd have been there cheering on his teammates. At the same time, it'd be great if our wrestlers can find the mental toughness they need without AJ being a cheerleader.

I guess I need to state that I am a AJ fan and like the kid, but whoever said that he isn't your typical college wrestler is correct. You have to take the good with the bad with AJ. He is a monster on the mat and regardless of how you feel about him you want him on your team. He is also a showman and is trying to represent himself in a marketable manner. Although none of us know the severity of his injuries and we all hope that he is okay, from the posts he was putting up on social media leads one to believe that the injuries' are not as bad at this point in the season as we might think. However I do think that AJ and his agent/team were concerned about the potential of him coming back and wrestling dinged up and possibly losing a match here or there and maybe not winning the national title this year ultimately jeopardizing his legacy. I'm not saying that's why he's not out there wrestling, we don't know why and can only assume its injury related, but its just a little confusing from a fans perspective that we are putting guys like Wittlake out there with a possible torn ACL and Sheets who clearly isn't healthy all while AJ is partying in Vegas. I would hope if he was healthy enough to wrestle he would be out there. I'm glad he is going to be okay and return next year, but I do think there is more to him sitting out than just a injury. Just my thoughts, not trying to stir the pot.

Thats where I sit. My main point was that the manner in which this has been handled has led to lots of speculation and it may also be affecting other parts of the program? I don't know and I don't like it that I don't know.

I just feel there is a way to do whats best for him and whats not bad or speculative for the program...basicly, create a situation that is good for all involved.

I think you read it wrong?

I am a big AJ fan. I am very thankful that there wasn't any fatalities. To assume otherwise is a little obtuse.

The point I was trying to make is that our season derailed shortly thereafter. Is it because of preferential treatment? Is team moral down? Is he really severely injured? I am just saying, when people make an investment into something, they deserve to know what could be or is impacting their investment.

So yeah, I am extremely thankful lives were changed forever (even though we don't know for sure if they are or not.) But, it's not unreasonable to question things because of the manner in which this has been handled.

You guys are so sensitive. Would "Hone-style" be more apt? I can't even figure out who you are defending.
Thats ok, because no one can figure out what you are trying to say, or who you are trying to insult. Just go ahead and say it straight out. Who are you trying to blame, and for what?

well said

AJ will have some bad ass mma dudes in the room for all the guys to meet and workout with

Was Hone “kicked to the curb” or beat in a ranking match, or both?
The last time I saw Dusty he was on crutches. The time before that, he was on crutches. And the 4 times before that. I guess being out due to major knee surgery is being "kicked to the curb" in some tiny minds.

He’s mad because him or his friend couldn’t make the team. Now that is John’s fault.

I love his drive, his talent and his chutzpah. It took me a while to get with his on-mat antics (same with Johnny Hendricks) but I’ve came to love it. But as I said before, I’m saddened that he would make such a dangerous decision, elated that neither he nor anyone else was killed and deeply disappointed at his total (as far as I have seen) lack of public regret for it. This is exactly how I would feel and “speak” if AJ were my own son.

From watching AJ attend a couple of matches after the accident, I think he has a shoulder injury that either needs surgery or a lot of time to heal. Yes he was jumping around with out really using his left arm (could be wrong on which arm) but definitely not using one arm near as much.

For legal purposes, he has probably been told to keep his mouth shut about the accident. While no one was killed, there was significant injuries and property damage and until that is all settled, silence is best. Public apologies will be used against him in legal proceedings. So while you would like to see him fall on his sword over the accident, he and his insurance company have work to do for his/their benefit so the apology you all crave isn't coming for a while if at all.

AJ probably had a super nice suite and women in his bed in Vegas you can’t find in Stillwater. He is really young, I might have made the same decision at that age.
