No, I don't support taxpayer provided birth control. I believe in self-reliance and personal responsibility. People need to learn to provide for themselves, not rely on government to provide what others provide for themselves.
That is not to say I couldn't be talked into it, but it would require a dramatic reduction in the number of abortions performed each year for me to agree to it. I would also require positive results to continue the funding, not the open check book Democrats prefer.
I'm not one of those that wants abortion to made illegal. One of the only things I ever agreed with Bill Clinton on was his statement about abortion, abortion should be legal, safe and rare. Almost 700K a year is not rare IMO.

So then, why are you opposed to government-provided, taxpayer-funded access to birth control? You stated you might could be talked into it but it would require a dramatic reduction in the number of abortions. Isn't that what you assumed would happen when you spoke of mandating birth control?
