STILLWATER – Visiting last weekend Lardarius Webb Jr. is a major focus of the Cowboys recruiting for the secondary where they could add as many as four more players to the 2023 football recruiting class. It is a priority. There is also news on Putnam City defensive end Taje McCoy as well. Webb Jr. confirmed his interest in Oklahoma State with including the Cowboys in his final three. He has one more visit to one of his top three as he is scheduled to be at Kansas this weekend as the Jayhawks host Texas.

The 5-10, 180-pound Webb Jr. is the son of former NFL defensive back Lardarius Webb, who won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens, was there on an official visit. Mississippi State may be the biggest competition for the Cowboys in getting Webb, who had 28 tackles and six interceptions this season. He also averaged 6.38-yards on eight punt returns.

Webb returns one of his six interceptions this season.
He is described by his coaches at Jones College as an old school type of player. He plays the position physical and is known for big hits despite being smaller than some at the position. He is described as a player that loves playing the game, which is a big deal to Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy.
The Cowboys are bringing in another junior college defensive back in Kendel Dolby from NEO A&M and he will visit the Thanksgiving weekend for the West Virginia game. That is also the weekend that Nolensville, Tenn. wide receiver Chance Fitzgerald is scheduled to visit.

You can also add defensive end Taje McCoy to that weekend. It is coming down to decision time soon for McCoy and the Cowboys who offered back in January of this year are pushing hard. McCoy had a tremendous season for the Pirates as they ended their season in the playoffs on Friday night (Nov. 11) with a 31-21 loss at Sand Springs. McCoy actually cross over to offense and ran for a nine-yard touchdown in the playoff loss. McCoy had a strong season with 97 total tackles (68 unassisted), 11 sacks, 16 tackles-for-loss, four fumbles recovered, and three fumbles caused. McCoy was a major cog in the Pirates defense all season.
Among others McCoy has offers from Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Tulane, and Vanderbilt. We think McCoy will make a commitment soon after that upcoming visit to Oklahoma State.
You can expect even more visitors coming in the first and second weekends of December as well.

One other note. Oklahoma State is aggressively recruiting a running back for the class and the Cowboys had New Caney, Texas standout Kedrick Reescano in for a visit. Reescano had a good visit and had de-committed from his original school that he pledged to in Michigan State. Now, we understand that there is a real battle being waged for Reescano. The 5-11, 180-pound back that has rushed for 1,611-yards and 28 touchdowns and he is getting all kinds of NIL promises being thrown at him.
You had best get used to that as NIL is going to be used as a recruiting enticement by some schools whether regardless of what the NCAA has said. The lines are blurred and there are some schools desparate enough to hope they stay blurred.
