All our studs will be at the US Open in 3 weeks. Interested to see what weights they go. Wolbert is testing the waters to go down a weight to see you his body adjusts to the weight cut. Last 2 years he's been at 65kg (143.3). He'll be competing this weekend and next weekend at PNL at 138. If weight cut is good, he'll go 61kg (134.8) at the US Open.
So he’s going for U20s then instead of U17? Guessing his birthday doesn’t fall on the right side of the cut off.

Thoughts on Gray shirt? Hickman, Goff, Johnson, Guerrero would all benefit probably. Finding the right kid that wants to do that and stays focused for the year is probably way more difficult though.
I think grayshirting the lower rated true freshmen is probably the only route to go.
I don’t think you can greyshirt once eligibility has started? That’s how I understood it. You can apply for something? It’s confusing?
@leecothran on your chart, you think Hughes stays 33?
The only one I think would benefit from a grayshirt is Goff. I'd be very surprised if any of the others mentioned wrestle as a starter.
He might've meant true freshman to be. You're right no grayshirt after you've attended class.
Yeah sorry I mean the upcoming true freshmen like Purler, Hickman, Teague etc.
You cannot which is why I listed those incoming freshman as possible grey shirts. But to @PoOsKuE point if they’re less likely to be in consideration for a starting spot why would it be worth them to take a gap year on their education. I didn’t think of it that way.

Starting to have champagne problems with the lineup which is refreshing.
And yes, you can't be enrolled as a full time college student and still gray shirt. Makes it tough to do without "prep schools" nearby. I think that guys usually go to NOC and take 9 hours per semester to fit this requirement. I think there are also rules around who can practice in what practice.
But they’re able to be a part of the RTC and practice with that. Technically they’re also able to wrestle in opens too unattached I think.
That's is a tremendous list from Lee showing the quality of our recruits but I've looked and looked and no matter how many times I do I still can't find a 285 lbr. I can't get no, satisfaction.
Right but RTC practice is freestyle focus.
Ultimately it doesn't really matter. They'll figure out the logistics and maximize whatever they can.
Man, Marcus Blaze is sure stud. Sad PSU was already deep in him before DT took over. Would have been a great commit.
Like Rocco Welsh, I don't think he wanted to get too far from home. What I wish is that DT had recruited Ono when they were at Worlds lol
I think Ladarion and Landon were underrated. Time will tell. Would I rather have Robideau or Jude Correa!
Robideau could easily be in this list, as well as Vega. I’m super high these guys

Still deliberating in court. Apparently the judge is not a fan of immediately instituting roster caps... so that would be a massive help for OSU if they block that part of the settlement.
Here's the roster with eligibility breakdowns. Some of it is messy, like showing Merrill as a sophomore but the RS will be on the last year of his eligibility so just bear with me. I do have a full time job that isn't related to wrestling... contrary to what my wife thinks.

Really looking like the judge is going to ask them to negotiate some sort of phase in plan for the roster limit. Great news for us.
This is the only thing that makes sense. You can’t reasonably go from ~40 man wrestling rosters to 30 and unnecessararily, negatively impact so many innocent students when a phase in would allow a fair and reasonable approach to roster management. Seems to me like 35 for this year, 32 next year and then a hard 30 going forward would be reasonable. Obviously, something similar would apply to all other sports impacted negatively while those impacted positively or not impacted at all, e.g. men’s and women’s basketball could have limits that best benefit the students.
Wolbert is signed up for 61kg at the U20 Tournament. He must see that 133 would be his best chance to start in Stillwater. It will be interesting how he wrestles.

He's testing the waters with the weight cut. My guess is by the time he gets to Stilly he won't be 133.
