And that might be how you make the math work on Dunn’s buyout, or at least close the gap. We are saving money on Mason’s contract due to Auburn. Maybe we should get the best fired coaches and let opponents pay 80% of their salary for us. As the obvious NIL and budget poor we are, not a bad plan. 😂
We don’t know the real reason for the meetings do we? It could be a simple as Gundy has been given some actions items and this is a daily touch point to keep him accountable. .
Too me this is a fireable offense . You talked to your employee once about his communication with employees and he didn’t improve them. It appears he’s gotten worse and more stubborn. I think your could challenge the buyout.
That’s true. If Shrum is involved in those meetings then hopefully they can at least somewhat hold Gundy’s feet to the fire.
Seriously. There's probably a hundred things that they need to be meeting about now other than just staff replacements. Hell even if all the staff replacements are put in place that we want, it sounds like some big changes in program communication need to happen. I'm sure there's talk about what the short-term portal plans are, talk about getting Gundy involved more in NIL..... Etc
Staff changes or not those two need to be sitting down and putting together a new plan of action because the existing one just blew up.
2. Meetings - there are a lot of meetings happening right now. One in particular I have been told is AD Weiberg and HC Gundy are meeting daily to discuss most of the stuff in this update and plan to continue to do this.
Gundy has a very public OANgate. I think Chad is in part doing his due diligence to see if Gundy is doing anything that could be causal for dismissal, or at least leveraged to negotiate a reduced buyout. Chad has to gather the facts and separate them from gossip.

Maybe Chad knows the whole story and that makes things not so obvious?
What on earth would the whole story be? It’s already out there the same problem of aloofness and communication are the huge contributors. The coaches lost the team. Not much else to say
If the plan isn’t approaching our guys in the portal to get them back and making staff changes then it’s pretty much an empty gesture

I failed to communicate the real rub about no change in coaching staff in my response.
It will be very difficult to recruit against some of the information that has come out with the portal moves and rumors around potential player issues with Dunn. Tag that with Dickey's inability to gain quality commitments for the offensive line and IMO we will be lagging even more against our peers for the foreseeable future. TCU is about to light the world on fire and OSU is currently playing lope the lizard.
I really can't believe our athletic leadership fail to see these factors (especially as it relates to Dunn).

Odd that this didn’t come from Gundy’s Twitter account (whether he authored it or someone in Comms).
Growing tired of hearing we don't have money for buyouts. We are currently doing millions of dollars of stadium renovation. Have the damn money or quit negotiating extensive buyouts in contracts. OSU has too many GD excuses and I am fed up with football throwing them on table.

Offensive and defensive players have not been on the same page since about mid-season.
We can all hope that X has heard the Gundy plan and really believes what he tweeted. I don't know of any good reason to doubt him on that. He's put in the blood sweat and tears into the program that I certainly never did

I could have phrased things more clearly. I agree Benson’s tweet is genuine. I was talking about how it’s odd that we’ve heard radio silence from Gundy’s account. I’m pretty sure he almost never tweets things himself via that account, hence mentioning the Comms team. IF Gundy/they were to even say something.
Regardless, it’s good to see a current player say something positive.

Probably the CEO wants daily updates and how things are progressing. I’m sure the President’s office is being lit up by donors and possibly athlete parents over these issues. I’m sure the Regents want to know what is happening too.

It was a depressing update. Maybe the worse thing for me was the team collapsed in the last half of the season including the humiliating loss to K-State, the offense sucks due in large part to not having a back-up quarterback and a rushing offense that averaged 2 yards a carry for the season, there is a wave of departures before the bowl game, but the powers that be didn't think something might be wrong until the second wave of departures? What the hell have they been watching the last two months?
Agreed. If he wants to salvage this mess then actions will be far better than words.
I think his limited availability to the press is to protect his alligator mouth from overloading his little ass.
