We will have to wait and see if your doom and gloom predictions come to fruition.
Nothing - not a single word - that any of these economists write is "doom and gloom." It's an explanation of the error of imposing tariffs. You'd know that if you ever read any of it, but you are too determined to "defend" your guy to the very end to bother hearing even the slightest criticism of one of his policies, assuming if a policy of his is criticized that means the critic hates him personally. And that is the greatest sin of all (in your mind). You can either love him with unending adoration, as you do, or you must hate with equal passion; it is inconceivable in your mind that someone could be ambivalent about your political god, finding things with which to agree and other things with which to disagree. In your world it is "all or nothing," commonly referred to as a cognitive disorder.

LMAO, you've had the same position on tariffs for years, the same as I've had mine. Has nothing to do with Trump, he's just the one who has the balls to try and address the problem.

What problem do his tariffs address?

Free trade, trade fairness, trade imbalance, federal revenue, domestic manufacturing, domestic employment, world peace, reduced military spending, improved and reduced cost of supply chain, tech security, illegal immigration, etc. You are so focused on the short term you do not consider the long term effects of tariffs. Tariffs are merely a tool to be used to influence proper behavior of foreign nations.

So when other countries inflict tariffs on the US does that mean they are influencing proper behavior on us? Is that why there are tariffs between countries, to “influence proper behavior” on each other?

Dan it really very simple, we are the largest consumer economy in the world, as such we have an ability other countries do not. We are the worlds leading super power, that comes with many responsibilities if we want to be good stewards, which I agree that good stewardship is currently somewhat questionable, and it comes with many advantages. When foreign countries are taken us for granted and taking advantage of us, tariffs are a wake up call for these countries to get back to doing what is right.
Take Mexico as an example, is it right they allow illegals free range to cross our borders illegally, free to flood our country with drugs, allow free access for the Cartels? Of course not but Mexico's government is corrupt and highly influenced by the Cartels. How do you provide Mexico's government the motivation to stop doing what is clearly wrong? You first threaten to tariff their exports into the US and if they don't listen you enact the tariffs to motivate them to do what is right.

What these economists are trying to get through your thick skull is those countries are not taking advantage of Americans, they are taking advantage of their own citizens. If you would ever trouble yourself to read what they say you would learn that. But because we disagree about Israel you are convinced I am wrong about everything, so wrong you are compelled to argue without discernment, so closed minded, so convinced you know better and don't need to listen to anybody else, so certain that Donald Trump is a human deity you shut yourself off from any possibility that they might be right and you wrong.

Unlike you Dan I'm not afraid of sacrificing for a better future for our children and thier future generations.
