TSA precheck/global entry

It just takes one cluster F in some other airport, miss a connection or something...to realize how easy it would have been to do it right the first time with global entry/TSA Pre.
This is a good point and especially important if you rarely fly since you likely won’t have status. Imagine you’re in NYC you were running late to LGA bc you couldn’t get a cab/Uber due to rain, and the traffic is awful of course, and then you encounter a long TSA line. If you miss your flight you might be staying in a dump across the street that night.

Also, same applies with global entry. I’ve been stuck in the line at customs in ORD for 2 hours before. Almost missed my connection.

As has been mentioned, if you travel with your family then global entry and tsa pre can be expensive. If it’s just you or maybe you and the wife, it’s good “insurance” or peace of mind.

Is it worth the $85? I only fly, on average, twice a year. Thinking about giving it a try.
Has anybody gone through the steps to get a global entry precheck? Is there even a location in Oklahoma to go through the interview process?
I have tsa pre and Clear. Clear is great because you get your own concierge that moves you to the front of the security line. I fly several times a month out of Love and DFW and it’s definitely worth the money.
