My fiance and I were just about to shut everything down about 1:55am (at work in six hours), and suddenly (and unexpectedly) the election got called.

Shortly after, the bottom of the TV screen said 'Donald Trump has been elected President' and he made that entrance to the music. (2:30 in video)

It was unbelievably surreal on so many different levels (like a movie in real life)........I'm sure for any of you who were watching as well.

I gave up about 5 minutes too soon.

I didn't figure she was going down without a legal battle so after waiting what seemed like hours for less than 5% of the vote to come in I finally caved and went to bed.

Similar situation. I was considering calling it a night but with the inconsistencies between the networks, AP, and FoxNews calling or not calling PA and WI, combined with the relative ease of examining the numbers and seeing there was no longer much doubt that Trump was going to take those states, I kept watching and flipping between channels. I was also watching Bloomberg because I was curious about the market reaction.

I stopped on PBS for a short while, did some more flipping, then came back to PBS and saw they had him over 270. I presume that was when the AP had finally called both PA and WI for Trump (can't remember which was first).

Within 10 minutes (it seemed) the report of the concession phone call and then reports of Trump getting ready for a victory speech were starting.

I do remember thinking that the 'Air Force One' theme music was both extremely cheesy and ironically appropriate. I also remember thinking there was no way Trump could ever do what Harrison Ford's character pulled off in the movie. :)

I didn't know the music was from "Air Force One!!" LOL (But I loved the music --- he played it at rally entrances in airplane hangers where he walked off his plane)

It all kind of reminded me of the end scene of Rudy. While Trump is a larger than life personality, he was still going against nearly insurmountable obstacles (and odds) and won.

I was about to give up and saw on tMB thread that Trump was heading to the stage and I flew out of bed and went to the living room (waking the wife up too) and we watched.

Regardless of what the future holds, it was clearly an historic and important moment. Being called the biggest upset in political history by some. I disagree with that characterization but it's an incredible point in time for sure.

I saw it live. Passed out on the sofa and woke up after Podesta was exiting the stage. Went up stairs and caught the Pence introduction. Glad I got to see it live.

Fell asleep and woke up right as he started speaking. Got lucky. Alcohol put me to sleep. Damn whiskey.
