Trump tweets Thursday morning

I understand the massive effort to discredit our President on every issue...but good golly man, give it a rest.

Yes. I can't believe anyone would criticize the leader of the free world for acting like a 10 year old boy.

I flip on MSNBC in the morning while getting ready for work. Mainly because it has become such a Trump hate vest it's comical.

Every day Mika and Joe call him names, claim everything out of his mouth is a lie. It goes on and on and on till I finally have to change the channel.

I'm surprised it took this long to slap them down.

They wanted to buddy up to the President elect, Joe wanted a big job in the Trump administration. Trump shunned them. They then went on the war path.

Like I've said before Trump gives better than he gets and I love it. The beat down of the MSM is way overdue.

Trump has no tact. I'm fine with him using twitter to fight back, but use more facts and less insults.

And the other side of this, the MSM. Go watch her segment about him this morning. Not one thing about policy. 100% distasteful personal attacks. They've operated with relative impunity for their entire existence and expected it to stay the same, even though THEY turned it up and ugly, even by their distasteful historical standards. Ridiculous and silly to give them a pass.

So the spoiled brat MSM is getting punched back after playing the bully for decades? Sure it could be handled better, but they're being taught the eye for an eye concept at a daily bloody nose gushing pace. It's a relief and nauseating at the same time.

"I don't watch, but I heard morning Joe speaking badly about me this morning. That's too bad. They insisted on joining me for NYE in Mar-a-Lago. I couldn't accommodate, but I thought we were friends."

The left is outraged, the base laps it up. That's not news.

It's like the adage about a baseball season. You're going to lose 1/3, you're going to win a 1/3, and it's what happens with the other 1/3 that makes the difference. In 2016, that last 1/3 wanted to try something new. Same as they wanted to try something new in 2008 and 2000 and 1992.

When that 1/3 in the middle starts to think you're an embarrassment, it's a problem. If the best thing you can say about someone is "not Hillary", that's a low bar to clear. What happens when there's a better alternative (in either party) the next time around?

First, I agree with OP. Classless and beneath the office.

I also think things like this are classless - and it's not an anomaly. This is basically the show format - to disparage Trump's mental health.

Now, the criticism can be made - why stoop to the level of these two predictable and unimportant dorks? Not sure I see the value in that, but it may be fascinating to return to this thread in a few months and see where this actually goes. As with a lot of Trumpisms, this may make a lot more sense in hindsight. May not. But it'll be interesting.

A couple of contextual thoughts:

1. There is and has been a clear media war between Trump and CNN, MSNBC/NBC (and others, but mostly these) since day one. We are talking about a guy that may have run for president as a personal FU to Obama after being embarrassed at a dinner. After the week CNN is having, who can say they will survive a Trump term, let alone two Trump terms? I think he sees them on the ropes and wants to drag MSNBC into the discussion, maybe pick up a two-fer. There's never been such a nakedly anti-administration media push as there has been this time. Ever. A couple of guys will cite something they think was exactly the same for Obama, but a google search of Trump Russia will destroy any argument. It buries birther stuff by millions of search results. Trump has to stay on the offensive here. Has to. If he fails to do that, it will take the foot off the neck of the media corporations trying to bury him, and that would be foolish. So, even though it's cringeworthy today, it may in hindsight prove to be savvy er.... lucky depending on where it goes. Just a thought. This isn't Ronald Reagan's Whitehouse where the MSM had a monopoly and cared about the appearance of journalistic integrity. No network cares about that anymore, and especially Trump better stay on the offensive, and if you don't like Hillary Clinton's politics, you better hope he does too.

2. Speaking of not Reagan - Trump is a Boorish, classless, asshole. This isn't news, fake or otherwise. I didn't vote for him to be a sunday school teacher. I voted for him to 1. not be Hillary, 2. appoint Constitutionalist judges, 3. wreak havoc on the swamp. MSNBC and CNN are major swamp players. Holding their lack of professionalism up to the light is a very good thing. I wish it didn't have to come from the office of the President because it is unseemly and cringe-worthy. But if not him, who?

That mindset (partial) is how he won.

exactly what i was thinking

when you have folks making a living and getting traction trashing your name when they could just do informative morning news

Yes, as I noted...

What if he could do the things Mega voted for, AND also not be a boorish, classless, asshole? Is that too much to ask for in this day & age?

tweets made me laugh

bout like telling hildebeast you should be in jail

trumps in the sewer don't judge

The media pokes the bear all day, every day, and was previously never held accountable for anything.

(Like getting us into Iraq -- many of the same media acting as Hillary's spokespeople, acted as Bush admin. spokespeople to cheerlead the catastrophic Iraq war)

If Trump had taken GOP cuckservatives advice for his media strategy, we would have president Hillary for the next eight years.

President Trump just grabbed 'em by the pu$$y and the left doesn't like getting punched back because they are a bunch of wimps. They like to dish it out but cry like babies when someone gives it back to them as much or better. Everyone and every institution in the universe can get down and dirty and filthy but the president has to stay aloof and take the dirty punches? To hell with that. Trump did not get elected by playing that game.

It's pretty simple, Trump says he's a counterpuncher. That's 100% true.

Trump, somehow, always comes out of these exchanges without so much as a scratch. Meanwhile, those that picked the fight are left licking wounds and nursing their mental composition.

At some point, THEY are the dumbasses for picking the fights no?

Wholly agree Mega. Think Joe & Mika live in any of the neighborhoods that have immigrants being dumped in? Think McCain travels coach on his vacations? Think the Clintons would do a fundraiser for the Girl/Boy scouts for free? There seems to be a huge level of ambivalence given to these people who act like Trump in private gathering (Hillary in her Goldman Sach's speeches for example) while making fun of the very people they are supposed to help. But a guy who actually fights back and won't take a bunch of crap, well he is somehow deranged and bad for the country. As Mega said...if Trump doesn't do it, who will, my guess would be no one and especially not the "alleged leadership" of the republican party.

Seems like it should be easy.
Act presidential. You are not a reality TV star anymore. You are not campaigning anymore. You won. Grow up. Your haters can't bring you down. Why give them ammunition?

How comical is it that those 2 are getting married. It's a laughable big joke.

Great idea taking advise from the side that lost.

I'm not a fan of this myself, but NOT acting presidential is precisely why he continues to have the opportunity to not act presidential while occupying the Oval Office.

I agree.
He just can't and shouldn't do this. Allow some others to do the attack. Project Veritas and Cernovich are doing a great job highlighting the bias of the media. But the President doing name-calling directly, especially on the official Presidential twitter, is counter-productive and hurts himself and the policies he is attempting to implement.

.

They lost in 2016.
And Hillary was trying to go toe to toe with Trump at the time.
She was acting like a douche, also.

Obama won in 2012 and 2008. While being respectful and speaking in a civil, mature manner.

Trump is doing the country a favor.

You hide and watch.

Also,

Nothing is known today that wasn't known yesterday. The two-fer is in play.

There's a market opportunity for fair and balanced (the reality, not the slogan).

Shovel read jobs, keep your plan, keep your doctor, $2500 savings a on health premiums, red line. The list is pretty long if you need more.

Been are you kidding me! How was the ex-rodent in chief treated by the media in the run-up to 2008 and re-election in 2012 vs how Trump (and nearly all Republicans) has been treated by the media and hell even his own party. If you already have the sycophants and liars in line to do your bidding, well you can be all Godfather like and hand out Turkeys on Thanksgiving and be worshipped.

Again, not a big Trump fan, but good grief I've never seen a person get treated as poorly as he has in politics. So he fights back good for him, is it presidential well not as presidential as reading to children, but its infinitely more presidential then getting hummers in the oval office and then lying about it.

One day you are going to see that D's & R's are just opposite sides of the same coin, then you'll understand why such a large swath of Americans voted for Trump....and the fact he was running against one of the worst, listless, dishonest candidates to ever run also helped.
