Again, allegations aren’t evidence.

I think that he could have. His record of being a liar can be used to support the notion that he is lying now. I suppose that is part of the risk of using a criminal and known liar as a key witness

Lanny Davis’ word is not something that can be trusted either. You have a whole pile of people that made made their careers off of being dishonest. Anybody that believes anything any of these guys says is just an idiot. They all have motives and agendas.
What we need to to understand, is paying a pornstar to keep quiet even illegal? Would anyone be shocked if Trump paid or had some pay a pornstar to keep quiet? People have already baked in Trump’s lack of personal morals. Nobody cares...just like with Bill Clinton.

If the president says he intended to repay the person, then it would not be a campaign donation, but rather a personal loan in which case there would not be a campaign finance violation... *I think*...

Except that prosecutors and Cohen and his legal counsel have already agreed it was. Weird how that works...

When you are investigating criminal conspiracies, a good chunk of your key witnesses inevitably end up being criminals and liars (at some point in the past).
That’s why people are subject to being cross-examined if and when Trump is actually prosecuted/accused of what Cohen alleges. His proffer in court can’t be used against Trump, but it can in the court of public opinion.
A guilty plea determines Cohen’s guilt, but his proffer couldn’t be used as evidence against Trump in subsequent proceedings against him nor determine Trump’s “guilt”. Cohen would have to come and testify and be subject to cross-examination. Confrontation clause of the Constitution.
Who was found guilty in this plea? I thought you were saying that Trump was guilty of breaking campaign finance laws.

I get that. However, while I do think that the house will vote to impeach Trump after November, I don't think that the Senate will.
This is actually my ideal case. An impotent Trump bitterly limping through the rest of his first term with just enough jeopardy hanging over his head then a bitter primary challenge. Getting a woody just thinking about it.
