Bottom line, to me - an admitted layperson on such matters - It seems like a pattern of yet another sketchily sourced Buzzfeed (or similar) story that justifies another congressional Trump investigation - Something that's already been stated as an objective. It doesn't pass the common sense test. More gaslighting.

Not totally up to date on the timeline we are talking about here, but my understanding of it is as follows as far as timing goes:
-Cohen first testified before Congress October 2017.
-Cohen pleads guilty to lying to Congress in November of 2018. That is when we start hearing about Cohen cooperation if memory serves. The “secret” Cohen tapes report is July 2018.
-The allegation as I understand it is Trump reached out to him before his October 2017 testimony, which would be before any notion of cooperation by Cohen would be cooperating...maybe even before any indication that Cohen was being investigated.
So it seems to me the cited tweet might be getting the order of action/conduct twisted...either in a good faith mistake or as his own bit of gaslighting.
I’m still in no conclusions/predictions....gonna watch it out mode, fwiw.

It doesn’t say it’s false just that it isn’t completely accurate. Lawyer talk. Buzzfeed brought the story to the SC and they no commented it. Now they have given a very narrow response after massive pressure from Dems today for them to turn over this evidence. The Crux of the problem is the direct order by trump sounds like. It may have been more of a “Wont anyone rid me of this meddle some priest?”.
The statement says It’s not accurate....which is broader than “isn’t completely accurate”.
As a lawyer, I interpret that “lawyer talk” as a broad refutation of the substantive allegations in the report.
The “crux of the problem” in any prosecution for suborning perjury is that there must be actual coercion....except in the situation of a lawyer eliciting testimony or producing evidence that can later be proven that the lawyer absolutely knew was false.
