"Aggies are a cult." Bearcat you don't know how right you are. We lived in Katy for 35-years and never missed an OU/eaTme game. Many kids from Katy's 11-6A HS's go to Aggieland annually. One of our neighbors sons was one of the "ice cream" boys clad in white yell leaders. He was also in the Corps. The Aggots have a collie that roams the campus freely and if it comes into your class at school & barks, class is dismissed with pleasure.
Said collie, when this event occurred was something like #6 in the ancestry, or something. Whatever, our friend's son was charged with keeping said collie "Revelle" safe for the summer. What was only imparted upon his leaving for summer with the dog was that the UT boys would do everything possible to dognap this collie.
Of course my sons friend & their group were out every night over the summer leaving the dog with his parents. They were paranoid so they hardly went out during that summer. At least 3-attempts were made on the dog but the dad was ex-special forces and all attempts were in vain.
Lastly of note, at the stadium in Colley Station, right outside one of the corners of the stadium is a dog cemetary replete with picket fence, headstone, dog house, etc. About 20 feet away and mounted on the stadium itsels is a scoreboard facing the dog internment that reflects the current game score for the "dead" dogs to view.
There's much more but after this I need a shower.
