Pretty much what I thought it would be...........the offense is adequate, the young OL and inexperience at QB are apparent but improving , and should as the season progresses, Mason has the potential to be a superstar and the OL should also continue to get better.
The defense has been the best I have seen in a long, long time. The difference in this years defense and other good ones we have had is the depth, there is very little drop with the second unit. I hated those games where we would lead say 35-10 at the half and win 56-35..............its great to see even the third unit with athletes able to shut down the other side. I know late in the game they had reserves in also, bit our 3rd unit didn't let them get anything.
We have put together maybe the three best defensive games in a row since Gundy has been the HC. I know these three teams are not great offenses, although CMU and UTSA have both had their moments this year so far as showing some really good offense, but we have dominated them, along with UCA from start to finish........I don't know if all have seen it yet, but CMU almost up set Syracuse on the road yesterday, the CMU QB threw for 480 yards and 4 tds
