I had a college room mate who had a wrestling scholarship to UNLV but chose to come to OSU instead. When it came time for intramural wrestling everyone thought he'd go out and dominate. He said that it would be demeaning to him and unsportsmanlike to wrestle intramurals against inferior competition. He just watched from the sidelines comfortable in his decision. Not because he didn't want to compete but because he didn't have anything to prove to himself.
