The energy and media outrage is exploitation and it’s cruel to minority communities.
One who researches the media, will find that media members — per capita — could easily be America’s most racist demographic.
Especially post-2010.

You don’t have to choose based on what inflicts more harm? What are the percentages of resources by the okc police are dedicated to minorities? Police, fire, ambulance?
Ignore? Discount? I feel like you are arguing with someone else. Proportional resources, marches and media coverage.
The dichotomy you tried to make in your first post is that:
1. White supremacist crimes like in Charlottesville are an anomaly that we shouldn’t be concerning ourselves with all that much;
And
2. No one is concerned with or addressing black on black gangs related violence.
Neither is true.
One of those items occurs way more often than the other. However, the number of news stories seem to be reverse proportion to the number of occurrences.

Not as way more often than you seem to think.
Is the number of news stories proportional to the threats faced....no.
But let’s stop moving the goal posts....I’m discussing proportionality of resources dedicated to fighting and addressing the threats.
Okay, I missed the point you were making and went a different direction.
I do think that one of the problems facing gang violence is that it is too common to be shocking in some regards. Almost like the number of lives lost to car wrecks vs. those lost to plane crashes and the disproportionate attention that each of those receives.
How many MS13, Crips, or Bloods members do you know?
Good point.
Thanks!
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.
I am from Leflore county, so yeah I know a few.
I will say this - I am a middle aged Oklahoma farm boy. I grew up around rural white people who told mild off color jokes that rarely seemed to offend anyone too badly. But, I've literally never met anyone who espoused racial superiority. Not that I can remember. I would think demographically and geographically, it would be significantly more likely that I would encounter white supremacists than MS13 or crips.
But then, I've never seen bigfoot either, but that doesn't mean that hairy bastard doesn't exist.
Grew up in Pittsburgh county and went to McAlester HS.
Didn't know any white supremacists.
Did know a black guy killed due to gang violence. Same grade. Believe we were Jrs.
We all have our own life experiences.
I knew lots of flat out racists growing up and more than a few straight up white supremacists. Represented a few in my my private practice days. Didn’t know any gang members growing up (except for some motorcycle 1%ers). Represented plenty of them as an adult.
Point is, that’s not a real good measure of the relative dangers the group’s represent today.
My contribution was in response to the post from @osu_orangestreak being from Leflore county, a close neighbor to Pittsburg county.
I put little to no weight in anecdotal observations. Everybody's got them, you included.
I'm a statistics guy.
