two storylines, I'm a sucker for: post-apocalypse (dystopian) and alternative history. I guess there's a little bit of each in this show, although they don't show the aftermath (or at least not so far in any of the episodes I've watched) of what happened to DC.

Interesting take on what would have happened if ultimately the US lost the war and Japan and Germany ended up divvying up the country with Japan holding the West coast to the Rockies and Germany holding the East coast with a buffer-zone (neutral territory) between the two centered in the Rockies and surrounds.

I'm only half way through it and I'm uncertain as to whether it's more of a mini-series or will span a few seasons. It does differ a bit from the book, but the sets and artwork are really great as they really capture the dystopian feeling of a USA which was held under the occupation of the Axis powers.
